Here's a silver. The description says it's a silver metallic high gloss, but the image doesn't show that.
Plan is to do the Blue for the cab hood and north of the body line and again at the lower part. Similar to what Dustin has. The silver would go down the middle.

Well final got the engine degreased. I used about 4 cans of oven cleaner on it, plan on pulling the valve cover to do rocker arms, and oil pan to clean that and reseal it.
Now since I have a place to get busy again on Ka'Bluey, I can't wait to get going again, and get him in paint.
I've had my colors picked out for quite a while. The truck will be Kobalt Blue, with Orion Silver from the top of the "Dent Side" to the top edge of the lower body line.
I want the colors in this position.

Those are some pretty colors. I'm a bit limited on choices due to costs of paint. I'm thinking I want two gallions. One of each, and I'm not wanting to spend over 100 a gallon. I'm using a single stage Acrylic Enamal. Since they both end up being metallic I'm a little nervous on how it will turn out. But if I'm not happy, I can also add a clear coat down the road, and then use that for the cut and buff.
Still in the block sanding heaven stage right now. I'm adding a guide coat with the next layer of paint, so I can start really smoothing things right. I've learned so much on this, that the next one i do will be 100 times better. I certainly will be doing another one.
I'm always impressed with how much stuff yall know and how much work yall can do. We have an awesome collection of knowledge right here in our chapter.
To pick your brains for a minute. When doing the two tone. I plan on spraying the center first. Do I do a hard tape stop at the edge or do I allow it to over spray where the blue is going. I'm assuming if I over spray then I have to stagger the over spray, like an inch, then 1/2 in then on the third coat 1/4 in, so that I can better blend the paint lines. I know they won't be perfect. These trucks used a pinstripe type tap for the top line and rubber moulding for the bottom to hide the edges. Any thoughts?
Or I can just tape it where I want the edge to end and then spray the first color, retape and spray the second color. I'm a little fuzzy on this.
New, better blocks should be here, along with some good paper on Monday or so. Was hoping to have them by the weekend, but unfortunately.
Still I'm at the point where I can re-coat with 2K primer and start touching up with some glazing putty I think.
Shoot the center color first, and paint a larger area then what you want. Then with 1/4" masking tape you can lay out where you want the painted pin stripes.
I've wanted those colors since I've started doing the bodywork years ago. And I'm looking at $1000 or so in materials. But it's what I want.
Yikes:
Body - Can't remember how much I spent on all pieces, I can guess though. Bed 500, Door 100, P door, fender, and hood 80, D fender- 120 so maybe 800.
Paint
Paper\blocks\bondo\fiberglass - 150 maybe
Primer- 130
Paint - 200
Guns - 130
so that puts me at: 610, and more surface to cover

Thanks Bob, would you tape off anything for the first color, or just let it fall where it falls (windows and accessories will obviously be taped off)
