Well I clicked off here, and onto Facebook and saw a dana 44 posted with 4.11s. Made a offer, he accepted and said he had a matching 9" and 4" lift. So I made another offer and we came to a deal for it all. Then he said if I wanted I could have the entire chassis with it as a roller.
Just hooked the trailer up, headed to Creedmore at 6am in the morning. Picking up a 9"/44 with 4.11s on a chassis with 4" lift for $350.

That's my thoughts aswell, I found one in a JY but the want 300 and it has 3.55 gears. I wanted 4.11s or 4.56s anyways so that's $500 to regear the 8.8/44.
Since these are 4.11s I should only need to order a spool.
Left home at 0600, home about 1230. That included a breakfast stop, and fuel stop. Loaded it up, and now it is cuddling with the other frame, before they become one.
Holy Frame - a - mony? Looking forward to seeing this happen. We've got to pick the date for the FTE group to make it to the pits with you. Hoping the one ton is ready to hit the road by then.

I'm to the point the build is going to start nickle and diming me, but aslong as nothing to bad happens, I'm hoping to have the wife's truck ready to roll by the July 16 race. If not, definitely the August race.
Larry, what years were those 90's cabs that you have. I'm thinking of starting to collect the parts to do a Frankenstein style S-EFI on the 460, so just realized you might have the wiring harness that I would need, or part of it rather.
also: here is the bed corner that james and Kurt worked hard to reinforce. All cleaned and sanded. Almost ready for color.
They were 92 and 96, but both harnesses are about all gone now.
well today I sat out to do the SAS, but ended up not getting far do to finding out the 4" lift springs weren't truly 4". I'm guessing 1.5" level springs. So I ordered a set of deavers 5" super Flex springs for it, I'm the mean time the axle is in place just need to get the new springs in a punch a few holes in the frame for radius arm mounts. So I started putting the motor back together.
so here is a few pics of progress, and the springs I ordered.
