Well found out this weekend my buddy had a 300 intake like I had ordered from summit that is still on backorder. I gave him some stuff fkrnhis jeep awhile back so he gave me that intake. So I canceled my summit order and got the $290 back, time to buy some other parts now...
I also picked up the rest of my project today... the frame/bed section that is getting built, and the engine aswell, hope to start work on some of it tomorrow after work depending what the rain does.
Added some reverse lights to the f250 on Friday, found water leaking under the wiper cowl, then tonight I believe the heater core just popped, strong antifreeze smell in the cab.
Block sanded the bed. It's coming out really nice. The hood as well. The cowl has taken very little work, and so has the front valence. The fenders are being trouble. The weld and fiberglass/bondo in one looks good, but the old paint line is showing through. We didn't feather the paint enough. It has a very thick layer on it previously. Maybe it's been resprayed before. The other fender still has a small dimple where it was bent clean over. Dustin made it usable and 90% straight but since I won't be able to spray again till Saturday probably, I may go ahead and sand/ fix those two items and touch it up with the 2K primer this week. However if I had to go with what I have, id be very happy. I only blocked it down today with 220-320-400 grit. I've been told on this second coat to take it down to 800-1000 grit. So that's what I'm planning, unless ya'll thinking a third coat is necessary. Then I'll just take it to 800 for now.
the goal is to be able to spray color Memorial Day weekend. Think some BBQ will go good that weekend as well.
Question: Starting to consider a two tone job. Just not sure what secondary color I would want that would look good with the royal blue AE SS paint that I am planning to use. Any suggestions?
tore everything off the engine today so I could start decreasing it. Fornit all soaped up and couldn't get the pressure washer to crank to save my life. Sprayed it down with the water hose but still need a good pressure washing before I pull it apart to change rockers and new oil pan gasket, and possibly oil pump while I have it apart.
Got out of class last night around 8, went home and replaced the heater core, just didn't have time to test it for leaks. Old one was definitely leaking.
Leaking heater core could explain the water you saw leaking the other day as well right?
Not sure. I did find a place on the firewall between the blower housing and sheetmetal where the butyl sealant pulled away, got some from autozone, cleaned and stuffed it in the gap. If it's not there, I'm 99% sure what it is then.
I'm open to other color options as well. Mary didn't go for the white though. And I think that much Blue would just be too much Blue, since I plan to put a camper cap on it.
