It looks like y'all are staying busy.
My poor Ka'Bluey is still sitting in the same place that he's been in since being shipped back home. We're going to a friends BBQ Monday, for Memorial day. I'm have tempted to throw some tires on him and drive him out there.
Y'all behave.
You need to put some tires on it so we can watch the weed eater die a slow glorious death by repeated rolling compaction. Have a good holiday weekend. Enjoy your BBQ. Missed you at dinner tonight. Hope you enjoyed our salute.
Tomorrow I'll take a break from Project reincarnation aka "Lil Mrs. Blue to work Ol' Blue. The old girlhas has been setting with broke spider gears for a little over a month now, and the new spiders have been setting in the shop for about 3 weeks. Race is next Saturday so I guess I can't put it off anymore, also got to re adjust my Shifter.
Be glad to have you if you can make it over sometime.
Got out there about 10 to start opening the old girl up. She fought me a little bit, but ended up knocking it out in just about 2h 15min start to finish. That's pulling both hubs/disc/spindles/axle shafts. Taking out and disassembling the carrier/ring gear/spiders and putting it all back together. Also taking the old joint out of driver side axle shaft, and installing a new super joint over there. Then putting it all back together.
Ring gear is still in good shape luckily.
And 2 sets of spiders... Something seems to be missing from one set.
These were out of the front axle, I run a full spool in the rearend so it's 100% locked.
I snapped a axle shaft, and rung the pinion off which locked the front up immediately. The steering went right lock into the wall and right back to left lock with my thumb inside the steering wheel. I actually almost ran over my dad who was standing on the edge of the pit when it threw me into the wall. I'll never weld a front axle after that.
It was a hell of a ride, sucked spending my 18th birthday getting Xrays though.
Yes that does.
I rolled a early Bronco racing off road, 10 trucks on a Moto-X track, and hurt my shoulder.
Hours later went to the hospital ER where I worked at the time. When they ask how did this happen and say you where racing and rolled a truck, the next question is were the police called?
I said no why would I call them? The look on their face as they reached for the phone was funny
I was able to stop them before they called the police and tell them just where and how it happened.
Sad part was it was not my truck I rolled but my uncles and yes I fixed it and painted it as it was not painted before the roll over.

Well I had planned to be a lazy *** today.. Instead I worked on "Lil Mrs Blue"
Had it jacked up, the engine hoist actually made it pretty easy.
Pulled the 8.8 and stock leafs out.
Then i put the ford 9" and 4" lift springs under it and bolted in. There she is at ride height on its own weight. The jack stands are no longer touching.
The ground makes it look alot lower in the rearend than the front but it's really not that bad. I'll have to put a tape on it, but pretty sure on those roller tires she is setting as high as Ol' Blue is in 38.5s. Wife says we are gonna have to drop the "Lil" and just call it Mrs. Blue.
