Bench and tailgate Pass door
Mary suggested going to the junk yard today, so I jumped in the truck and asked Dusty to give a hand. Did pretty good for 120 bucks
Well I had planned to be a lazy *** today.. Instead I worked on "Lil Mrs Blue"
Had it jacked up, the engine hoist actually made it pretty easy.
Pulled the 8.8 and stock leafs out.
Then i put the ford 9" and 4" lift springs under it and bolted in. There she is at ride height on its own weight. The jack stands are no longer touching.
The ground makes it look alot lower in the rearend than the front but it's really not that bad. I'll have to put a tape on it, but pretty sure on those roller tires she is setting as high as Ol' Blue is in 38.5s. Wife says we are gonna have to drop the "Lil" and just call it Mrs. Blue.
I like the way she sits! Have to agree with your missus on that, she is not "lil" anymore
Thanks Larry. The speed your moving on your project makes me look like I'm taking a siesta every time I'm down in the work shop, but it's slowly getting there.
Nice progress BTW, the height on that truck looks great!

Haha thanks, I'm ready to get the 35s under it.. But I really need to get them on the alum wheels. I doubt I'll get much of a chance to work on it this weekend. But I did get some more parts ordered yesterday. I guess next thing is get the front end back together and see what it looks like as a complete truck. Then start smearing some more primmer and paint.

Finish assembling body
Primer/paint
Get tires swapped to Alum wheels
Get/mount tank and plumb fuel line
Completely wire truck
Build trac bar mount, cut trac bar and steering shaft down to fit.
Buy a shifter and install it
Build driveshafts
Damn that's a big list, and I'm sure there is more.

There always is. I know mine is going to need most or all fluids changed once it's back together, a battery, grommets for the fuel tanks, and then the interior is going to need going through. That's just what I can think of at this time. Once i'm there I'm sure it's going to have something else that needs addressing.
Right now I'm looking at Cab Corners. Tabco, which is reportedly a good brand, has it for 18.00, but then wants 20.00 for shipping! Plus I'd need a flanging tool, to line it up. There goes another 50!
I'm sure Bob has the flanging tool that I need, in Missouri! In a way, this is Bob's fault! Oh well decision time. Bondo or Cab corner. Cab corner is the right way of doing it... I guess there is another option, instead of doing the whole corner, I could just do the one side. With a hole there, it would be easy enough to straighten eveything else, then just a small patch of flat steel welded in...

Your in luck Josh, I believe I do have that tool. But make sure to measure an extra 5/8" of the old metal. You'll need that.
Very nice, looks like the wife and I are heading that way this Saturday morning to watch the mud bog event, and are finding a hotel to stay for the night. Any suggestions?
Jacksonville is a military town. Plenty of places to stay and depends on your price range. Go a little further east and stay in Swansboro. Nice little town on the intercoastal waterway.
Have fun at the bog. Bring sunscreen. No shade. Might want ear plugs if you or the wife have sensitive ears but it's not too bad.
There is a place just up the road from my house called Parkerton Inn. It is in peletier but would be a Swansboro address. It always has people in it but I've honestly never heard how the rooms are. There is another one in Cedar point.. it's a Best western.. I think it's called silver creek inn, definitely looks higher end than Parkerton, but I'm sure the price Wil reflect it.
There is also a I believe Hampton end in Swansboro.
