CNC Fab HPOP stage 1

Notice the plug instead of ball and there is a dowel that keeps the internals from spinning.

And some people still have trouble justifying one of these upgraded pumps!

To be honest it was about the same cost a motorcraft reman pump. I’m excited to see how it performs. On my best day the old pump did 3600 psi but kinda slowly tapered down to 3500~

He makes good, affordable pumps. There was a thread here a while back where I posted a cost analysis compared to the Dieselsite pump. If I needed a pump, it's the first I'd look at.

It’s back together

It lives again! Fires up a bit faster too, especially with that 6.4 starter.

Awesome.

Now, the question is, what stupid thing is going to happen next? Loose bolt somewhere causing an electrical issue? Starter goes out? A sensor that just happens to take a dump for no reason? I'm hoping this is it (truly). I know the hours that goes into these projects and it just gets frustrating but also exhausting having to keep tinkering. You just want to drive the damn thing. I really hope this is it other than something minor like a hose that needs to be rerouted or something easy but not catastrophic.

@blicharski1989: Did you actually use exhaust manifold gaskets? I'm thinking about whether I should install some, or rather go without as the last 16 years.

I used gaskets for peace of mind. I had no leaks previously but didn’t want to risk an exhaust manifold leak.

Sure. Just because he is one. I thought everyone knew that by now. What puzzles me is why he insists on hanging around. The answer to that question says it all.

Overall she’s running strong. Don’t mind the idle IPR % these tunes I have seem to run the injection pressure at idle around 1000 instead of 640 like it was stock. Mild 35hp tow tune. No leaks evening is happy. Starts right up. Bottom end grunt feels a little softer with the colt cam stage 2. I may need to do a VGT relearn in my 2003 if it hasn’t gone through it’s cycle yet.

A few observations the pump makes about the same pressure but at a lower IPR %. The old motor craft reman would go 3500-3600 at 85% the new one is around 75-78% WOT
