Finally got time today to work on the big dent in the bed, not perfect, but good enough until I get another bed to paint and throw on. This one would need the floor patched, rockers patched and lots of bodywork elsewhere.
We had a car show this weekend at Deacon Jones in Smithfield to raise money & donations for Hurricane Florence victims. By the end of the show we just about filled the beds of both these trucks and raised about $1000 in cash. We asked for water, canned food, pet food, and cleaning supplies.
With the air being cooler, I'm sure we've all got plans to get things done this fall. Anything in particular ya'll are trying to get finished up?
Yep hope to get back to the body work and get paint on my 81 F100 flare side.
Have the hood, 2 rear fenders, tail gate and a small dent in 1 front fender. I have started every thing but the fender small dent.
Today I looked into the choke and what I was looking for was there so need to dig deeper into an issue it has.

Yes. Heads are back from the machine shop, had a broken spring but you never would have suspected when hearing the engine run. So the plan is to get as much of the engine compartment cleaned up as possible, paint the inner fender wells, weld up the large hole in the fire wall and paint it where the old heater box with factory ac was, as the fresh air type is on the inside with only a small hole for the blower motor in the firewall, put the machined heads back on, new intake manifold and carburetor, new plugs and wires, new headers, new aluminum radiator, and get Uncle Jesse fired back up with open headers cause I still haven't found an exhaust system for it. My neighbors love me so I think they'll be fine with hearing the old 400 rumbling at 7am
Front brakes started making noise on the super crew yesterday while hunting. What I thought was going to be a simple toss on new pads turned into a little more...
Got it back together and even washed it though, it definitely stops better now.
A little project I've been working on all week. Gathered up some old engine parts and bought a large mailbox. I'm going to make a mailbox engine and then donate it to my friend Jay's car show "Full Throttle Fall Car & Truck Show" to be auctioned off & see if it will raise money for his charity (Vietnam Veterans Foundation). I did this last year with a set of cornhole boards, they raised $140. I'll post a picture of the finished "engine" later this week.
"Headers" made from PVC pipe fittings Old aluminum air cleaner with 15 years of funk and corrosion. Biggest mailbox I could find at Lowes! 351c distributor that has been on my shelf for 5 years. You can see what I'm going for here. Will be much better once it's painted Ford Blue and has all the wires
