Rode Saturday at a ATV park called Deep Creek in Linden. $20 to get in, nice bathrooms, nice showers, cheap food truck, came out much cheaper than a trip to Busco, only about 30 miles and 45 mins from the house. I'll definitely be going there again. 800 acres, they plan on expanding it to 2800 acres. Went through almost a whole tank of gas. Tried out my new pressure washer too.
Scheduled a ride in late august south of Fayetteville. Need to make sure the Honda is ready to roll on that. I'd also like to get the exhaust mounted on the one ton, at least as far back as where the cat should go. The interior and cab mounts come after that.
Well race got canceled last night, so I've got a little bit of time to address a few small issues I found yesterday while hauling *** around the yard. It smoked everytime I stopped like I had a valve cover gasket pouring oil. Kept looking for a leak but never could find it... finally I realized the pinion seal was leaking oil, and the front drive shaft was slinging it on the side of the engine/exhaust. Also the starter keeps hanging everytime I let off the start button it would hang for about 5 seconds. So today I picked up a new pinion seal, and a new solenoid gonna toss them in tomorrow. Got another race Saturday that we are hoping to make.
Picked up a set of wheels Im gonna try to clean up and restore, and hopefully use the next time I get tires. Need sanding and hit it with the airways and rouge bars.
Hey feller!
Finally something worth printing.
After getting something out of the shed a few day's ago, and Ka'Bluey's new metal dash come flying at me, it was time to do that dash swap and get the autographed dash ready to be garage wall art.
Eventually all of the dash lights will work, and have a working radio in there.
Hope y'all are doing alright.
pe y'all are doing alright.
Spent the weekend working on the tractor and sanding and polishing those wheels, gonna seal them with a ceramic coating and store them until I get tires for them.
Well I finally got the Transmission back from the guy who rebuilt it. I did a upgrade full manual valve body, 5 disk direct Drum, and a Billet Type R servo, so hopefully she will do what I need. I also ordered me a nice Hayden 15"×12" trans cooler, and a 7" fan to go on it. I'm moving that to the bed of the truck instead of under the hood also. Transmission is fully bolted in, drive shafts back in, and shifter cable hooked back up. Just got to get the cooler mounted, and fill it with fluid then try it.*
Then today I decided to replace the decking on the gooseneck because it was all getting soft.. I plan on hauling it next weekend so I figured I may aswell fo ahead and jump feet first into it...*
$400 worth on 2x8s later I got the material to replace the decking. I've got about half of it screwed down just gotta finish the other half. From the factory it had 2x6s, I went 2x8s and did a small space between them so hopefully it won't get mud between them and rot out as quick. They were also 20' and 14' sections. So the way the supports are on it I had to do 14' sections and a 6'piece between them.*
We finished it up Wednesday night (everything except the dove tail because it wasn't rotten. Gonna do that too, just gonna wait a little before tackling that one. I'll get a pic tomorrow before I toss the trucks on it.
The daily has had some rear end chatter for the last couple of weeks, so thought I’d go ahead and do some maintenance this weekend and clear that up.
Forgot to take more photos.
Last week I spent the weekend lifting up the bed and resealing some fuel tank leaks with a sealant a friend of mine recommended. Chocked up each side with a piece of railroad tie, secured it with straps. Did the transmission fluid this weekend, put on a new 4r100 pan with a drain, filter and gasket. and put on a new seat cover since the other wore out, and went riding Sunday, a friend of mine flipped his over and I had to winch it back over.
