Looks like Im going to have to put a master cylinder on Ol' blue. Messed with it today and still doesn't stop very good at all. It also pushes right through the brakes so I can't build any rpm on the line.
Big thanks to John aka cracker for helping me out with some welding. I split from down east Sunday to try and meet him around 3. Got there around 3:30. After we figured out what we needed to do we/he got down to business. I really appreciated the help. His wife kept us supplied with water and we basically worked till dark and called it quits. We got most of it done.
I need a welder. John has a nice set up. He explained a lot of the process to me while he was welding. I learned a lot. It has really made me want to get one now.
I have a few spots that on the roof of Ka'Bluey that need a few screw holes filled with weld. That cab had a sun visor on it when I got it. And for a raised 4x4, I didn't want it. But I also got a nice chunk of cash out of it too. Got back a fourth of what I paid for that cab.
Happy to help James, too bad we couldn't get the arm assembly done too. I think we both underestimated the amount of time it would take to weld that frame together. I just hope it's basically flat, if we had laid it out in the driveway we'd have a more level base than that piece of plywood, but then we'd be working in the sun all afternoon instead of having a shady spot.
I dropped it off with him today. He was pretty stoked and very thankful for all the help. We mocked up what pieces were ready and everything went together. All his pre cut pieces fit really nice. It's going to look just like the one in the video.
Probably another full day of work to do those brackets and arms. Gives him something to work on and he was thankful of what we could finish.
