I think I will never buy any thing from them after this.
I was watching and giving some input in the coolant filter
thread and I thought that maybe they will be ok but after this
NO way will I use them. I had even forgotten about the filter
post and when I googled there name I saw I had already been
to there web site and got to thinking and then it came to me
that it was the filter post.

If I was the customer and wanted specific parts I better get them especialy after Waiting this long to get the engine
Good God Black Onyics HeadGaskets might as well Pull it apart Now and Change them its going to be alot faster now then in 5K down the road on the side of the road Brokedown when the engine is in the truck
400 to ship it back OK but 700 restocking Fee what Crooks its there screwup
Should the connecting rods have play side to side on the crank???
yes. there is a spec, google didn't find it, but if you think about it,
there is no way to adjust this, save replacing parts that have excessive
tolerances. not enough is more of a problem than too much.
right now, i'm guessing you are in hyperobservant mode, which
given what has happend to this point, is to be expected.
a dial indicator on the side of the rod and a hard measurement
taken is the only way to tell.... .010" of an inch feels
like half a foot, especially if you are freaking out about the whole
transaction.
a cheap dial indicator at harbor freight won't let you build
the space shuttle, but it'll tell you if you are in the ballpark,
for piece of mine. i personally wouldn't worry about it.
So, if I understand correctly, your engine arrived with Black Onyx gaskets installed? Are you going to be pulling the heads off yourself and re-installing Ford gaskets? If not, can you take a close-up shot of your cylinder heads please?
That view helps a lot. Is that a 10mm bolt or 13mm bolt that secures the rocker arm carrier to the cylinder head? Because if it is a 10mm bolt, it looks like you have an older version engine on your hands here. Also, before doing anything else, get one of your injector hold-down "crab claws" to see if it will thread into the hole in the cylinder heads. If it's too big and won't thread in, that there's your "nail in the coffin" that you have an 18mm engine instead of the 20mm that came out of your truck. Hope this info helps.
Benny, I have to admit that picture is a little hard to tell if the rocker arm carrier bolt head is a 10mm or 13mm size. What I do know though, is he does have the 20mm block from the pics he posted of his old engine. Now I'm curious to know if this engine has the correct rear cover for a manual transmission even.
