They're all the same. If you're having a problem then tap/thread chase bolt and hole. DON"T RUSH NOW. Patience is a virtue.

My hold down clamp socket.

Actually, that's the t40 one. T45 on the late models.

I gotta get the orings on the injectors

10 or an 8 mm socket works for the copper washer

New orings

Give em a soak. I also filled all three holes on the top of the inj while soaking. Prob could've robbed a bigger container to submerge it

Random pic of my old head

That's where I'm at. Gonna b a late night if my clutch shows up.

That disk in the freeze plug will change color if the engine is overheated.
Notice it says "void if removed"? They're talking about their warranty.

So did they extend the warranty on it? Time to drive it like you stole it?

Okay, just by virtue of THIS information alone, is telling me this is an early 18mm dowel engine. The later version cylinder heads have the larger threads on the injector hold-downs, hence the larger TX-45 head size and non-interchangeability to the older ones.

Okay, but does yours use a TX-40 or TX-45? A TX-40 WILL fit a later model hold-down but will have some slack in the bolt head. I guess the real question is if a TX-45 will fit or not? If the answer is no, then your truck was originally equipped with an earlier build cylinder head. If the answer is yes (which I believe it is), you have a 20mm cylinder head (I remember you pulling out the four 13mm rocker arm carrier box bolts).

Last one

Injectors torqued to 26 ftlb.

Oil rail to 10 ftlb. ( I used 120 inlb)

Crank n cam sensor to 120inlb

Those are wonderful to change on the road on a hot engine. Lol

A very inexpensive must have.

Sure wish my gasket kit looked like this

Parts are disappearing from the floor n trailer. Very cool. (How many of you are thinking that I'm stupid for installing this? I'm just ready to get it done. I already proved to myself that the engine can be removed. I'm not scared to do it again (and might have to huh). I might be the only moron that feels like, removing the engine is a great way to inspect. If I get my other one built right, I will remove this one and jump right to the other without worrying about what they cover, and how long it's gonna take. I just hope this one lasts until I can get the other one done.

I think I jumped the gun Mike,,,, the freakin paint I think was gumming the threads. My late version hold clamps did work.

that is reasonable. you'll know all you need to know a while before
that milestone, i suspect.

breathe in and breathe out. you've been pretty wrapped on this
for a while now.... and rushing at this point is where most of us
screw up... we are tired, annoyed, and just want it DONE.

if i were you, i'd stop about 8 pm, have some dinner, and get
a good nights sleep..... doing what i do, when i've had burn it
to the waterline projects, you are working with high voltage
and there is a brutally darwinian learning curve there....
low voltage is open casket, high voltage is closed casket, by the way.

i've had to learn to pace things, and that is where you are at right
now.... get some rest, tomorrow is another day.

and we are gonna get a good test on VR gaskets.... i'd do what mark
suggests, and put a pressure guage on the degas bottle, and see how
your pressure in there runs... long before those head gaskets go
away, they will be bleeding pressure into the coolant..... and you'll
have time to make a strategy, instead of being on donner pass on
a hook....

i'm gonna suggest something..... do you have a set of taps,
so you can chase the threads? chase the threads that have
paint in them, blow them out with air, and call it a night.

you won't get good torques on bolts put into paint fouled holes.

Absolutely not. I would do it in a heartbeat if I could get my hands on (or afford) a second engine. I've toyed with that idea for a while but wouldn't have the time to work on my one engine ... I'd need that 2nd. If I had that 2nd engine guess who would be starting a breakdown/rebuild thread.
