if i were you, i'd stop about 8 pm, have some dinner, and get
a good nights sleep..... doing what i do, when i've had burn it
to the waterline projects, you are working with high voltage
and there is a brutally darwinian learning curve there....
low voltage is open casket, high voltage is closed casket, by the way.

and we are gonna get a good test on VR gaskets.... i'd do what mark
suggests, and put a pressure guage on the degas bottle, and see how
your pressure in there runs... long before those head gaskets go
away, they will be bleeding pressure into the coolant..... and you'll
have time to make a strategy, instead of being on donner pass on
a hook....
Some very good advice. Get some rest tonight and start fresh in the AM.
Not 1,2,3,4 even 5AM enjoy some good sleep.
I might've just been too cautious while threading the inj clamps in. I think they are good. 26 sure felt like a lot. Thought my wrench was broken, guess not, cause the new one is the same. Lol. Now I have 2.
that is reasonable. you'll know all you need to know a while before
that milestone, i suspect.
breathe in and breathe out. you've been pretty wrapped on this
for a while now.... and rushing at this point is where most of us
screw up... we are tired, annoyed, and just want it DONE.

i've had to learn to pace things, and that is where you are at right
now.... get some rest, tomorrow is another day.

This isn't the first post you've put up that explained exactly how I'm feeling. I can't stop. It feels downhill now. Lol.
Can't tell you how many times I have thought about doing this very thing. The engine compartment in these trucks are hard to work in. Especially when you are back in by the firewall.

And that very statement is exactly why I lift the cabs to do any repairs that involve removal of cylinder heads, and/or the engine itself.
Okay, but does yours use a TX-40 or TX-45? A TX-40 WILL fit a later model hold-down but will have some slack in the bolt head. I guess the real question is if a TX-45 will fit or not? If the answer is no, then your truck was originally equipped with an earlier build cylinder head. If the answer is yes (which I believe it is), you have a 20mm cylinder head (I remember you pulling out the four 13mm rocker arm carrier box bolts).
Yeah the old one is 20. The t40 was a bit too sloppy.
K I'm gonna give it a rest. I'm done for today. Thx everybody
