Anthony,
Are you going to pre-fill the HPOP? I would think a little less time
of sucking air would be better for it. Even if you don't let it start.
That way you don't run your batteries down with the priming run.
Sean
I put about a gallon into the filter housing and a bunch more into the turbo feed hole in the oil cooler. I also pulled the little plug on the top of the oil rail and filled them,,,, before I buttoned it up. I had the wife under the truck with the Fumoto valve open while pouring through the oil filter,,, I put a gallon in, and after about 5 mins,,, she only got about 1/2 quart out.
Hey Mike,,Is this the line to jump for the starter,,, prob not,,, I think that's the female side
That is exactly the one I'm talking about Anthony. The other end of that connection is the end you jump to the passenger side battery positive terminal to engage the starter. Just make sure the transmission is in neutral!!!! OOPS.... You're doing this with no transmission in it.
No more pics tonight. I was thinking through my process n decided to go ahead n put the trans in so I could feel the clutch. I'm planning on ordering the slave cylinder from Tousley, and needed time for the shipping(if I need to order it). My headlights are in California right now and should be shipping back to me tomorrow.
But as for the clutch. It feels different. I remember the last time I needed to change the salve cylinder, the clutch felt like,,,, nothing. Empty pedal. The clutch now feels like it doesn't completely disengage. It takes about a third of the pedal before it starts to disengage. With the pedal down,, it feels like it should go down more. , it doesn't feel like the stock one. Does anyone else have a south bend clutch and noticed it feeling different? It'd suk to replace the slave cyl and have it feel the same. I should be starting it tomorrow. I will take n post a video of it. Hope it goes as planned.
I did get the trans n transfer case in and filled up. I'm gonna put some paint on it n put the skid plate on,,,, then the bottom is done. No pics of the trans install. I should've taken some, but I didn't,,, it's pretty straight forward.

Got the lower half done. I painted the inside of the torsion bars and the back of the axle yellow,,, Most repairs I have to do seem like they are at night. Last night when I got under there with a light,,, the oil pan lit up everything. The light reflected very well. I should b able to shine a light straight up at night and see everything.
I don't think the yellow will be visible standing outside the truck,,,, at least I hope not
I painted the outside of the torsion bars n the crossmember n skit plate blue. They match my centramatics
I went ahead n ordered the power steering line (gearbox to cooler) didn't want to take a chance on spraying fluid everywhere
I went ahead n modded up my stator. The fan clutch wire still hooks in it. It's plenty strong also
U know me,,,, couldn't resist
Now I'm gonna bounce over to the super duty section to finish the 04 to 06 front end conversion
