??? Dude, First off, I don't even have a V10 any more, so what exactly do I have to prove? Who here said the V10 out sold the PSD? I know it did not in the Super Duty's and I highly doubt the tiny amount of motor homes sold with V10's were enough to compensate. Why is it funny that the PSD's out sold V10's in the Super Duties? I most be missing something...
Who said it was the best powertrain for towing? I think Bill and Josh said it will simply tow up a hill faster. I don't claim that, never have. I've owned PSD's, I know what they can do. But even though Josh claims they can tow up a hill faster, he still says the PSD is the better towing engine. So again, where are you getting all this "V10's are the best in class towing engine" stuff?
That said, there is a place for a gas engine. I for instance very rarely towed with mine, and most of the time I used it for my 4 mile commute to work. A diesel wouldn't even get warmed up, and most of the traffic was stop and go (i.e. it could take me over 40 minutes to go 4 miles). Spending the extra money for the PSD just didn't make since when the V10 could do what I needed it to.
Every car/truck has issues. The problem is your making it sound like the V10 is just as bad as the 6.0, and that simply isn't true. I have yet to meet a V10 owner in person with a blow spark plug, and even it was $500, that is still far less than $5000. I bet the percentage of V10 owners that have had blown plugs is equal or less than the percentage of PSD owners that have had $5000 in repairs done.
Who said the V10 is going to replace the PSD? I think that is just you trying to put words in other peoples mouth. You would have to be pretty lame to think an engine they aren't even putting in Super Duty pickups any more is going to replace the PSD, even lamer to say V10er's think that. Most politicians don't even sink that low.
No the problem is, a PSD owner opened his mouth. I didn't say anything bad about the v10. Matter of fact I,ve stated other wise. I simply made a comment that the engine did have issues. I never said how many. I know some body w/ a v10 that spit out spark plugs and it cost him $3000. Before you jump out your seat. I don't know why or what all had to be done. I do know the bill. I found you funny cause you said the same thing I said. The way you was like you where putting me in my place. Oh well, I laughed.
Dude I like all fords. I don't know why but I do. I am a ford enthusiast. For the last time, I will not say it again. In a real world situation the V10 will not out pull a PSD. No I don't see it out pulling up a hill either.
I notice a double standard here. When a PSD owner talks about racing their truck it's taboo. when a V10 owner talks about running another truck from 60-96, all of the V10 owners talk about chips, removing the limiter, etc. I think it's stupid if you're trying to race a 7500+ lb truck, and I hope you get caught.
When I talk about racing, I'm talking about pulling up a hill or to the speed limit, or at the local airport on Sunday. I've offered to race Bill or Phillips91 up Vail Pass as I don't have to worry about them exceeding 55mph.
Brother I drive 55mph in a 70 zone. I'm with you I hope they get bust every single time. I've acted a fool a couple times and I wish some body would have kicked my butt. Don't worry they won't show up. They are just all tak. Weekend warriors. Most on this board never make their truck break a sweat. I know what my truck will. I know what my other trucks would and that what matters.

I'm strictly a Ford guy myself. Would never drive anything else. If someone gave any other brand, I'd sell it; simple.
Bill, I know you never say anything about racing...Others have and do.

I do 70 in a 75, and 70 in a 65 if nobody is on the road. My truck doesn't stop as fast as a car, and I factor that into my driving habits.
Why, did it strike a nerve? Seriously, there are many who don't tow or haul anything, and merely buy these trucks for DD's. I like mine enough that I'd use it for a DD even in the city after a DPF delete.
when do you ever find time to drive Bill?, 5k+ posts in a little over a year would keep a guy pretty busy.

11 posts per day is nothing if you spend a couple of hours on the 'net each day. I probably average 20-30 a day on the various forums I participate on.
