Can't say I would not love a new 5.0 6 speed stang though....
Bill, we actually agree on something. My wife has a 2006 Impala SS. Not old schoold RWD manual, which I would prefer, but still fun for me to drive and works for her!

It's fairly obvious diesel trucks are big in in America. Diesel cars are not.
I can't find the information, but I would imagine the 140/230 TDI Jetta is quicker than the 170/177 gas version. Either way, old school diesels blow, but I have to think the newer diesel cars are just as quick or quicker than gas engines, just like the trucks are now.

Speaking for all Americans? I for a change see big number of Americans who pamper those 30 years old Volkswagen diesels, diesel Peugeot or Isuzu diesels

2) We don't have huge taxes on gasoline so that we are economically forced into buying smaller cars for better gas mileage. European gas prices are CRAZY.
than I see more and more Americans riding scooters.
Scooters were poor man vehicles in Europe in 1960's. Is that where you want to see this country go?

3) The diesel market is a strange beast at best. Many people remember the last American car that had a diesel in it, and it was a GM product. That engine was THE worst example of a diesel, and many many people still remember it's reputation so much so that they look the other way at diesels. Also, to save money, self-service gas stations are all over the place, and diesel is one of the SMELLIEST fuels known to man. Or woman. I know it's a generalization, but many many people in business suits or a nice dress will easily go fill their car with gas. But diesel? Nope. Ain't gonna happen. A quick look around here at gas stations shows almost NO full-service diesel pumps. Matter of fact, I don't know of a single one. And everyone single one has diesel on the ground around it so it clings to your shoes, the pump nozzle is slimy with it, and it ain't easy getting it off your hands.
that is pure propaganda as already pointed.

Personal diesel vehicles are not going to catch on big here, at least without a lot of marketing and the possibility of high fuel prices.
marketing, or antimarketing of diesels? I can bet $1000 that the first dealer in US who will open lot with 20 different diesel sedans all below $15,000 will never need marketing.
I would be the first in line for the Ford Focus 1.9 cdi I drove in France 10 years ago.

Yeah I get that a lot. People who have no arguments in discussion always let their behind do the talking.
Why would you say I don't like America? I do like it here and I work hard to make that place better. Hate those who are screwing my life and life of my neighbors.
If you like to get screw, that is another story.

I know it is hard to get on the track of 500 pages with so many discussion diversion, but I was referring to those who force me to drink watery beer, have my 180 mph car governed to 120 mph and making 25 years old diesel technology the best available in this country.
Some want to pass that heritage on their children, I don't .

Ya, I remember that conversation. LOL Cali doesn't have watery beer, all Bud, Coors, Miller is watery, doesn't matter what state. Your choice to drink that.

Governers are very easy to take off, that is for idiots, but really, where can you go 180 anyways?

Look at diesels 25 years ago, honestly, tell me that technology is better than what we have now...

Sorry, but I am missing the point I guess. Look at the 6.7, honestly, that is incredible technology.

Once again:

Nobody is limiting your car to 120MPH. That was whoever manufactured your car's decision.

Nobody is forcing you to drink watery beer, you can choose to buy high alcohol beer if you want.

Nobody is selling 25 year old Diesel technology here.

Forgot to add, that in 1985, your 7.3 had no electronic injection, or a turbo, let alone an intercooler for the turbo. There are like 5 generations of additional technology to your diesel just in like 10 years prior to your 1999. LOL

P.S. Drink Alaskan Amber or Moose Drool, you can get those in Cali and not water beer. Don't drink Miller Ultralight! LOL

I'm going to start a new topic here.

My PSD 7.3 will out pull your V-10.

I was about to tell you it would not, then I read this.
6637 W/Pete's cover, BTS-TRANS, DP-TUNER LIVE, MBRP 4" SS, Isspro 3 gauge kit, TN-BB turbo, Bellowed up pipes, HPX, TRU-COOL cooler, SS Stage II injectors, and the Chris-fifty.
Yes, your truck could outpull my stock V10. Put yours back to stock and its a little diffrent story...

We all deal with issues differently. Some of us are downplaying them and sweeping under the carpet -some are facing them and looking for better solution.
I deal with watery beer buying good, 7% stuff in Chicago. Sure my sedans turn heads like pictured below.
Than tell me, how many Americans would drive Fords, or Chevy pickups would we for last 10 years have those 25 mpg, $35,000 Sprinter pickups available here?
