Importing what? People, most of where imported too...
The first cars were imported here. My old Accord was made in Ohio, in fact Honda is the second largest employer in Ohio behind the state it's self.
Really though, importing is not the only thing killing the US, America's laziness is the biggest killer IMO. For instance, people don't read how to put a spark plug in correctly and then their V10 spits them out... (Just had to tie the conversation back to the thread)
I was wondering when that spark plug thing would be brought up here if it didn't happen soon I was gonna bring into the mix
Yes Laziness and the very slow dependency on the government is playing a Huge role.
The only reason anybody around here buys chevy or dodge is cause they are cheaper. If chevy upgraded the 2011 I wonder how their upgrade compares to Fords 2011?
Since it has an aftermarket gear I stand corrected. In stock form they do not come with anything steeper than a 3.73 though. Even if he has a 4.88 rear end and the stock tranny (1st gear of around a 3.0) he is still only looking at a final drive ratio of 14.64. That is still worlds apart from the 23.45 that my 5.4 has. Do like Bill said and have him put it in 4 low and get a load moving in 1st gear. Then add another 1,500 rpms and more power to the engine.
Congrats on the new truck. Wish you would have stuck with a Ford, but the Duramax is a good engine too. Feel free to stop in anytime. We have all had a good time going back and forth with you too
Thanks Josh! And yeah, I will still hang out. When I become rich and famous, I will buy a 6.7, unless something better is out. Or if I become broke, I will consider an old 7.3 LOL

I read the torsional strength of the 2011 Chevy frames is equivalent to Fords now. I would believe sine they finally went to a fully boxed frame and the same number of cross members as Ford. They basically copied Ford's frame design, so unless they have no engineers, they should be able to at least match Ford's frame strength.
As for the 2011 Ford, I don't think anything significant was changed in the frame. Other than the obvious engines, the 2011 Super Duties just got a face lift and a couple new options from what I understand.
I don't think that they are cheaper, at least not significantly. All fully loaded Diesel models are pushing 60k or better in regards to sticker price.
the 2009 Chevy was about $3k cheaper than the Ford and the Ram was about $6.5k cheaper than the Ford. All modestly equipped (i.e. not loaded and not stripped) with diesels. That was when I was shopping for them. Part of Dodge's cost saving comes from the fact they don't have to be emissions compliant with their diesel until 2013. Other wise they skimp on materials, just walking around and setting in it felt cheap compared to the other 2.
