What automatic od would you recommend? I have 79 crew short bed 4x4 lifted with 35's and 400 with a c6, but would like another gear for highway. Please help.
E4OD. There are lots of them floating around. I just picked up one for my 75'. $350. Need to grab the aftermarket controller, another parts buyer had grabbed every inch of wiring when they pulled the big block.

bigunns you still lookin to do a 4wd swap? I might have what you need if you are.
I had kinda talked myself out of it, but I was just on Craigslist looking for d60's Friday.....
I'd be interested in seeing what parts you have and what money you want for it.
Big part of it for me is not wanting to have the truck apart for several weeks, if I can more or less bolt it in, do some minimal welding to get it set, then I may be swayed.
Thanks guys, I think the gear vendors would be a little less painful than the others, and stout too as I'm going to build my 400 to 500 ponies.
Looks like your crew is 4X4, I hoe you have a divorced transfer case as you will have to put the GV unit before the transfer case, as putting it after would effectively give your front and rear axles a constantly different driving ratio.
Have also been reading on guys using Allison trannys behind the 429/460 as the industrial trucks with these engines came with Allison 545 (I believe that's right model) seems like another quality option.
Bying a Super Camper Special this weekend to cut that and my crew in half and combine them.
I haven't seen anyone do this yet, kinda surprised.
Been done to death. Just make sure that your door gaps are perfectly even before you weld it together. Learn how to hammer and dolly the seam along the roof.
I guess I should have had more clarity, I'm leaving the cab of my Crew alone and merging the frames to us the specific set back axle long bed of the SCS with the passenger side spare tire enclosure.
And MANY other parts of the SCS including 460, C6, Dual Batteries, Dual Tanks, Oversize Radiator, AC, Tilt Column, Dana 70 rear, Large front and rear sway bars, dual shocks front and rear, extentable rear bumper and misc patch panels and whatever bits and pieces are in better condition than the Crew has.
So I will have a Crew Cab-Super Camper Special long box, all options.

Sounds sweet. Make sure you have a build thread so we can follow along!
I have seen one of these somewhere on the internet before.
Probably not supposed to do this but it won't let me post to classifieds..... I have the full race track trim upper and lower and all the parts to go along with it off of a 78 crew cab long bed if anyone is interested.

I'm interested, if it is in good condition. Can u send me some pics? Thanks!
I would also like to get in line for the trim. Don't really want race track but would buy it all just for the rear door trim and between the doors trim.
