I will be replacing the gear ratio soon due to the engine running on high Rpm at 55 MPH....
I did recently buy a gear vendors overdrive off of Craigslist but do not have the C6 transmission adapter. The unit came with the turbo 400 adapter. I need help finding the right adapter for my C6... does anyone know where I can buy one?
Need some help with fitting some nerf bars. I have a '75 cc, 4wd that is about to be fitted with some 35" tires. It's hard enough to get into now, but after the tires I will either need a ladder or bars. I'm looking at these from N-fab, but don't know how much fabricating I will have to do. Anyone have any experience with mounting these to our trucks?
I'm working on my 72 CC and my truck has plates welded to the side of the frame.
90% looks pretty good with the exception of the area by the rear leaf hangers. I was removing CM's today and quite a bit of flaky rust fell out of there.
So, I have considered two options.
I can remove the plates and coat it with rust preventer then reweld the plates back on...which burns off the preventer...although that doesn't sound very fun.
I could soak it with rust converter(technically should be top coated) and I thought about seam sealing or welding the top edge to keep dirt from accumulating in between the plate and frame.
I'm planning on boxing the frame to some extent and I really want to keep the plates as the truck is getting a diesel.
Hey guys, I'm new on here. Just bought a 74 f350 crew cab. Where do you guys buy your body parts like floor pans, cab corners ect.? I've looked on LCMtruck.com but the parts I seem to find are for all others except crew cabs. I wouldn't think that the cab corners are the same for crew cabs, correct me if I'm wrong.

Cab corners are the same on a crew as the regular cab trucks...other parts it... just depends what piece you need...some things are crew specific like roofs...and are not reproduced at all

What about a internal sealer/paint? Trying to picture what you're typing...but weld it up and leave a access hole you could plug up with a rubber or plastic plug?
Yessir. Someone said it was a bushwacker, but I have never looked into it.
Mine was originally C&C though, and those axles are narrower aren't they?
If I did the 4x4 conversion I was thinking of searching out a matched pair of axles, but then I'd need some fenders too if they were off a dually pickup versus a dually C&C.
At least thats what I thought anyhow. Still haven't made up my mind on that yet.

Yea, sorry I might not have been clear enough....the plate is welded to the outside of the frame so there is no way to get the paint inbetween. I had to cut a small section off to mount the shackle hangers for the front leafs and it didn't look too bad...I think I'm going to leave it as is.
