the 5.9 and the 6.7 are a ***** of a motor. they are put in everything and anything. but on the other hand i wouldnt stoop low enough to have one in my driveway by owning a dodge or a ram.
The 5.9 HO Cummins in my crewcab nets me 20+mpg regularly with the wild #9 tune from my smarty. It also has a lot more power, is very reliable, and is set up to run well for many more years.

Have you checked into the new UDC tuning software that is available for smarty now? There are a bunch of places you can get it, but I will probably go with innovative diesel when I get a smarty.
I have a smarty but i believe that they are the standard tunes. I need to look into the specifics of my tunes since maybe there is some room for improvement.

hi guys i am new here and to the crew cab game. I read the hole thing before posting so i wont ask all the normal questions. I am curious if anyone else has ever done a four wheel drive conversion the way i did it. I have not seen anything like it on here. I took the center section out of a half ton 4X4 frame and moved it to my 3/4 ton frame. I hope to take a test drive tomorrow if all goes well.
Also is the front tank crew specific? If so i have one if somebody needs they could have it as long as i dont have to try to deal with shipping.
I didn't do my 4wd conversion that way, but I have thought it would be the way to go for in the future. Post up pics if you can. I would like to see it.
As far as the tank, (I think) yes, it is crew specific. I had one that looked identical at a glance, but it wasn't.

I cant even figure out how to put the little picture in the corner lol. If u pm your email i can send them to you. I dont know if it was any easier or not. It looks factory and i diont have diferent vin numbers like i would with a frame swap.
On a totaly different note and not really for this thread how do u think a supercab stepside will look?

It actualy worked verry well its a little nerve racking to cut up a new truck. Its not the first time I ever did it. I had my Duramax a week before I cut it in half and added 37 inches to the middle of the frame. I wish I would have taken more pictures the ones I didtake are on the photobucket.
