You're quite a ways away, my interest is mainly How the frame was stretched as I'll be Splicing/Stretching a frame for mine and like to see how others go about doing it.
My frame needs to be done for my truck as I'm using an SCS back half and will be lowering the entire cab floor to put in a flat floor.
Hey guys, I'm back in the market for a 73-79 crew cab.
This might be a stretch, but I'd like to find a fairly complete, possible driving truck for under $10K. Am I dreaming, or do you guys see deals like that out there?
I prefer 4x4, but it it's 2wd I can solid axle swap it.
Also, if you guys have tips on where I can search for one, that would be handy too. Craigslist would be difficult to search over a multi-state region. I'm willing to go a long way for one

Become a member on oldfordcrewcabs.com and go to the forums, online trucks for sale. Jamesedwinstar, PAcrewcab, myself and many others scour the country using ebay and craigslist and post our findings. There's a couple on there now in your price range.

Thanks for the response. There's a guy in Arizona selling 2 with a Bronco as a package deal on the member classified section.
Used car dealer down the street from me just sold a VERY nice 31,xxx original mile 1978 CCSB with a walk-in service box for $3,900. It was a Forrest Service truck and was the old light green front to back. Walked down there to look at it and it had sold a couple hours earlier, they were washing it up for the new owner to pick up. Out of the 20+ CCs that I've seen in person it had the nice body of any of them with ZERO rust.
It takes about 30 minutes to check all the Major Cities on Craigslist for a crew cab, I used to routinely do it on one of the Facebook pages but got tired of wasting my time as 90% of the people that Want a CC aren't willing to go get one, no matter how good a deal they are.
Good luck on your search, there was 6 of them posted on CL in the last couple months between Seattle, Portland and Bellingham. The red 4x4 in Bellingham was right at $10,000 and maybe MAYBE worth $4,000.
These trucks really Become rare when they get a For Sale sign put on them.

Can't agree enough here. While they are not super common they are not near as rare as people will say they are. I can always find one for sale when I look for someone who asks.
The Gauge Cluster on that truck wouldn't look too bad if they'd cut out the dividers so they weren't blocking the middle of the gauges. I see they left out the pictures of the messed up steering column this time...
