Slow progress...

Recent pic with the new grille guard

Got the "Ranger XLT" emblems installed on the bed, just have the remainder of the upper and lower trim to install on the bed.

Yes and no... The bed that is on the truck now is actually off of a '79 custom 1/2 ton that I parted out, it came with the single rear fuel door. The original (rusty) 3/4 ton bed had the single round cut-out in the bed where the original owner mounted a fuel cap for a 20 gal aux fuel tank. That tank is mounted below the rear frame rails behind the rear axle. The truck currently runs approx 39 gals of fuel between the two tanks.

I kept the rear tank when I did the bed swap and paint, and actually prefer the clean look of the single fuel door over having a visible gas cap on the side.

Thanks for the compliments on the paint, it turned out really nice. Incase you're wondering, it did come from the factory with the white inlay.

wanted 78 79 4wd short box crew cab frame

I am looking for a 4x4 short box frame for crew cab. I found a nice 2wd with all the trim and want to make it a 4wd with out chopping up a few frames. Let me know if anythings out there. 412-330-8265 or email me at hllahlavl@yahoo.com

use the 2wd frame & do a radius arm & coil spring setup like the newer trucks. That's the way I'd go.

Its not hard to do a 4wd conversion. However stock radius arms require alot of work either by modifying the frame or the arms. You could do that or a 4 link or do a leaf suspension.

Been thinking about swapping my dually to 4wd with leafs. I need to take apart a running driving truck like I need a new hole in my head.

But it would be the only one running around like it.....
