Huh, Thanks for clearing that up Flab. Is the wrench unique to crews? Or maybe just the mounting spot unique? I was wondering if I should just zip the studs off before putting a carpet in. I don't see the utility in keeping them there in these modern times. I think I would rather just have a flat storage area under there. I wouldn't mind seeing a pic like maddog said either, but not urgent, more just curiosity...
I don't think this tool is specific to crews but it is to one tons. I had the same tool for a 74 F350 single cab dually. It also mounted under the seat. I changed out my seats and can access this through the bottom of the center console. ( by the way, I do have a bunch more legroom that what you see. The seats are moved all the way forward in the photo because I was getting stuff out from behind the seat. )
Maddog, what happened to the OFCC site?
1979 F350 Ranger XLT 2wd, 460, C6, 110,000-miles. 9K on fresh engine and transmission. Original paint, chrome and exhaust system. In New Mexico it's whole life. A few normal battle scars from being a truck but zero rust. I'm the second owner.
Wow, what a great truck flab, I love the color combo and how the hood patina works with it. XLT, AC, and a 460 too. I thought it was interesting how they put the cargo light switch way in the back corner, you'd need 6' arms to reach it from the drivers seat.
BTW, what kind of seats are those? I like em, flip-down console and all with the cupholders, remind me of 80's or 90's conversion van (maybe Dodge) style.
I'm not sure what the deal is with OFCC right now. I've got the site owner's contact info that I verified with another member and have reached out to offer assistance. Without it, I suppose much of the gang of regulars are here, except Bullistik and maybe Orthmann.
I purchased those seats in 2009 when I brought this truck back to life. I don't remember who made them but last winter when I went back to the local truck accessory shop to order another set for my F150, the dealer said that company went out of business. To many legal problems due to airbag sensors in aftermarket seats and not enough guys like us needing new seats. I did find a nice replacement online. Discount Van in Arizona offers just about anything you could want. This was $1,500. independent slide adjust, manual lumbar and heaters.
Hey guys. New to the group here. Getting ready to spend $40,000 on a all original 1976 Ford F2 50 crew cab custom with dealer installed gear driven winch. The truck is in incredible shape pretty much zero rust on the entire thing. Looking for some advice on whether I’m spending too much money here.

Is it a 4x4? If the truck is 100% original and in perfect rust-free shape then it could very well be worth it. Some of these trucks are fetching insane prices at auction but those are the cream of the crop examples. If the truck you’re looking at is not perfect then I would say you’re probably way off in terms of price. I would guess $20k could get you a very nice crewcab.

It is a 4 x 4. I know I’m probably paying more than it’s worth but it is the only one that I can find in the country right now.

It's worth only what one person is willing to pay. But if I had to guess it's only worth 20k. I had 2 1973 crews, 1 was a F250 shorted and the other was F350 longed, both 2x4 but both in great shape. Surface rust on the frame but the body's were great. I sold them both in September 2015 for $5000 for both.
