Anthony,
If you having the get-together at home. Put up a sign that says. NO Work Tonight R & R ONLY
Put at the entrance to the garage. You can show it off but you can'y
turn any tools. You need a break to refresh your mind. That way
when you start the re-instalation your fresh and sharp.
So over the last two days I have sat in front of my computer reading every single post within this rebuild. I must say that there is some amazing knowledge. This is and excellent documentation, and I can't wait to see the video of it start up. Alot of the pics are great for those of us that have never seen that far in depth of the 6.0L. I am definately saveing this to my favorites for future referance to the pics and info!!! Can't wait to see how the rest comes out and to see the finished product. Will stay tuned.

yes lots of very smart people around here, none of us charge or get paid for helping. its all about people just helping people, thats why i like it here. but you are a better person then me... no way im gonna sit back and read 70 pages of any thread.
I agree with you, thats why I love this forum! It was alot of reading, but Ihave my settings changed. So it's only 26 pages. Well worth the read though!
Looks good Antony, I still say paint the entire engine Cat yellow. Ain't nothing wrong with a yellow motor...out pulled many a Cummins & Detroit with one.

If you use the "permalink" in the upper right-hand corner of any post...that will bring to you back to a specific post in a thread. Regardless of the post/page count. Right click on it and "copy link" or "copy link location" and you've got that particular link address that you can use to come back to that exact spot in a thread. I know with Firefox, you can also bookmark that post; not sure with IE, Chrome or other browsers. Same basic idea when someone sends you Reps, the reps will bring back to that specific post if you link on the link in your CP.
Well guys,,, Saturday was a total recoup day.... But we're up n @ em today. Got some pics
This is the engine side of the rear cover. I dipped the seal in oil
Ta29 on the bed plate joint. N I put some on the hpop area
Pretty basic to bolt the rear cover on. On to the hpop
This is where the rear cover could be destroyed. The stc fitting would come loose n beat the heck outta the rear cover.
Three mounting bolts
The cover has a press in place gasket. I coated with oil. Then dried it where the sealant goes. The block to rear cover joint gets ta29 also. I put a thin bead all the way across the rear cover also. No pics of that. Sorry
Love that lifting plate. The notches work great
Dipped the ipr valve in oil
The ipr socket is nice too
Onto the rear crank seal
Here is a pic of the mating surfaces.
The front seal needed loctite, but the rear one is coated already
I was confused about the adapter piece of plastic
Break out the kit,,, thx to specialtools (ray in Austin)))
Rear installer
Same concept as the front seal
This is where the adapter piece goes
K. That's it. Bout to get the soap out. More pics soon. Painting today.
