I kinda got laxed with the pics. Company came over n I was talking n working. Got the injectors, oil rails, valve covers on
We've been tearing everything apart cause we can't find the rear cover gasket. The u shaped one that presses into the rear cover and seals it to the block. That just figures. Midway ford doesn't have it in stock. If we can't find it,,,,, oh crap. It'll b another week with the holiday.
For them that asked about the loctite. The old instructions had you using it
on the seals when you installed them. M-chan had said something about a different
color sealant that was per-applyed to the wear sleeve that slides onto the crank shaft.
I have a feeling that if loctite is used when you don't need it you will have one hard
time removing the old sleeve. The easy to deal with old loctite and stuck things is
some HEAT. So if and when it needs to be replaced it may
need to be heated with a heat gun before using the removal tool to break it loose.
Then some clean up will be needed to remove and residue on the shaft end.
Did you check and see if the IH dealer will be open turkey day?
I still think the Loctite should have went to the OutSide of the wear ring
NOT the INSIDE
Grease should have went on the inside
and loctite on the outside
The Wear ring is stationary right
all the front mains seal I have done press into the front cover and are stationary with the front cover however None was a 6.0L but I dont know why it would be diffrent
