An 87 octane performance tune from Mike at 5-star knocked a full second (.98 anyway) off the 0-60 on my V10. A combination of engine and tranny tune, of course. Went from flat 10 seconds down to 9.02-9.04.

Have the LiveWire data logs to prove it. Same day, same ambient temps, same stretch of road, everything the same except the stock tune vs. Mike's 87 octane performance tune.

10% improvement on an unloaded gasser. Not too shabby... Not to mention getting 14 MPGs towing/hauling 5000+ lbs through the "hills" of PA into Upstate NY with his 87 tow tune, but ... no proof of that one besides my gas receipts with handwritten miles written on them

Anyone seen a jump in mpg when using it on the 3V though?

I would say I see at least 10% improvement on my 87 tune. My 87 octane tune requires 93 octane fuel on my heavy truck though.

No increase in economy, but it's much more stable now, and doesn't dip as low as it would when stock.

ahh dang. I'm always looking something that will give me an extra mpg or 2. I've heard an intake is good for 1 mpg, but nothing else seems to help the 3V much.

The only thing that seems to help the 3V, is to drive slower.

I'm already going an average of 15 mph... I go an slower, I'll have to turn around

But on the highway is where I am looking for better mpg, and doing 80 probably is not the best. But with the little one in the truck, I'll spend the extra fuel money to get there 30 minutes faster.

You may also want to note the mileage of the engine, it didn't exactly roll off the show room there

But wait, gas engines can't last that long, so it must be a typo

According to Mike (in other threads) his dyno usually shows about 40% hp loss with an automatic compared to the most common type of dyno that only shows 18% loss with an auto. What's important to note is the hp gain and not the actual hp. He gained 17 hp with nothing but tuning. Modest gains for a bit more than modest price, but still a decent bolt on part.

Don't ya'll forget all the dynos that were posted that show the v10 loses more to the real wheel from the rated numbers than the psd does...
