A 460 of the same era can out pull a 6.9 with ease. It has both more HP and TQ.

The last of the 460s will out pull a 7.3 PSD too, it has less TQ but more power.

"The last of the 460s will out pull a 7.3 PSD too, it has less TQ but more power."-um.....no. My dad had a 460; good truck but not the towing ability of his 7.3l.

Longevity test-this afternoon/evening I plan to start the thread

will just go with the 5 psd's and the 5v10's that volunteered

A 94-97 460 has 10HP more then a 94-97 7.3 PSD. After those years the 460 was discontinued and the PSD went up in power. The 93 and earlier 460 had less power, but still more horsepower then a 7.3 IDI. Also for that short time the 7.3 IDI was available in 94, the 94 460 out-torqued it as well!

"A 94-97 460 has 10HP more then a 94-97 7.3 PSD"-My dad has an '03 7.3 and had a '95 460 so that was my comparison.-for pulling I will take an advantage in torque over an advantage in horsepower.

Send me a PM with the link to the thread. I am leaving for Florida tomorrow and won't have internet until the 15th. If you don't hear from me for a while, it's not because I'm not joining, it's because I will be sitting on the beach watching girls and dodging oil slicks

I don't care what anyone says but I love my new 6.4L diesel over my 5.4 all day long. I will always take a diesel over a gas engine from now on. I mean a v-10 or a v-8 gas engine can't compete with a diesel mpg, power, resale value.

Those slick guys at Ford evidently knew that, and that's why they offered different models of Super Duty. Some like diesels, others like gas and yet somehow we're all happy! Who saw that coming?

I'm in the same boat. The 5.4 in my F150 (2008) used much more fuel than my 6.4 diesel.

Other than the fact the V10 has more power and better resale.

The V10 isn't even CLOSE when it comes to resale, and if they have so much power, why are they so s-l-o-w?
