has anyone tried to make the stainless window visors for the front windows fit the rear windows of our crews? I was looking at the ones i put on my reg cab and they dont look like they would work for the rear and I dont want them just on the front.

I thought you all might enjoy a couple of videos of me pulling my 1974 Crew Cab 4x4 at our local county fair. I pull the truck in the Stock Gas Class. The 'light' class is 5800 lbs, the 'heavy' class is 6600 lbs. In the heavy class, my u-joint/yoke let go on the rearend, otherwise, I think it still had a pretty good head of steam!

This truck was for sale a little over a year ago as well. At that time, it had a styleside bed on it, and the rest of the body wasn't as beat up as it is now. The guy I was dealing with told me that his buddy bought it for $2500. If this is the same guy, it doesn't appear that he is trying to make any money, but like I said, it now has a different box, and the rest of the body is more beat up. I was never told about an axle problem last year. I never got a chance to check it out in person so I'm not sure how it is with rust. Either way, if someone is looking for a nice project, this probably wouldn't be too bad.

they never made them available to us. they made special exceptions for the US GOV, they made some 4wd long bed crews for the forestry service to haul more men and equipment as well as 4wd broncos with 460's for the border patrol because the 400 didnt have enough to keep up.

Do all 78 crews have 2 studs welded to the floor under the seat? What are they for? Also have a 78 ranger CS. Same basic trucks but the cc has metal trim inside the windshield top and bottom. The CS does not. What gives?

First vintage Ford
Hey guys, just bought my first Vinage Ford today. Been driving toyotas for years but I have always wanted an mid 70's Ford cc. I have been looking for years and finally found one. seen the odd 2wd around but never a 4x4 up here and sure enough I found one today! Not a big Ford guy yet, so don't no all the particulars. It is a 74 (love the round head lights!) It has the 300 (love that, always want to save on gas, call me crazy) I don't know what axels it has, I think they are dana 44? The floor is super rusty, is there a place to get floor pans for these?? also rear diff pops like crazy, think I need a new one, should I go dana 60? its only a 300... All I can say is, I never felt this cool driving my toyota!

Unless someone swapped in a different axle I believe it should already have a 60 in the rear. Look at the axle housing to the lower left side of the differential cover and it should have the model number cast into the housing.
There is an endless number of sources for front floor pans; Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, Mac's, NPD, LMC, Rockauto, ect,ect,ect
If you're referring to the rear pans then I believe you are going to have to fabricate, been a while since I read this entire thread, I suggest you read the ENTIRE thread and it will give you more answers than you have questions for yet.
