I measured from the back of my cab to the center of the rear axle on my crew cab and then measured from the back of my cab to the center of the rear axle on my regular cab short bed and they were damn near identical so it seems like it would go right on there when I get time in the next week or so im jusr gonna pull the shortbed off my regular cab and see how it lines up on the crew its gotta be real close
not to much, fix it up descent and clean, put a utility bed on it with ladder rack and use it for a work truck for side jobs I do. I work 40 hrs a week job that I love, but we all need extra money to feed our truck habits. Probably do some mods like 3gen alt, alum radiator with electric fan, because I'm sure Ill use it to tow with now and then, (thats why I liked the 460 and its strong running!). Funny that being a 75 it has the low fuel economy light on the dash (shouldn't that be on all the time with a 460 with a double pumper yet (don't think it needs that much gas!).

I have 2 1973 crews both with 390's and they dont have the low fuel economy light but my 1975 F150 reg cab with a 360 two barrel carb has the low fuel eco light and it finally started staying on all the time. I finally realized that the little plastic sensor that makes the light come on was cracked so I just disconnected it. Tried finding another one (NOS) but never could. When you get it fixed up post some pics.
Well by my door data plate (the vin does match) it says it came with 390 4brl and a C6. What sensor makes it go on I have yet to see it light? Also there is a dome light right behind the plastic strip in between the headliners that I have not seen in any other pictures earlier in this thread when they were talking about the headliners just wondering if it realy came with the crew or a previous owner put it in? here is a picture

Put the pedal to the floor and open all 4 barrels and that light will come on, if it dont then yours might be disconnected. You'll also see your gas gauge go down also. That sensor is mounted on the firewall right behind the engine that 2 vacuum lines connect to it. I've never seen that light in the middle.
In case anybody else with a Crewcab wants to put in a moonroof, I should say a cheap junkyard moonroof, one from a 90 740 GL volvo wagon comes close to matching the contour of our cabs, I checked every roof in two Pick a parts (must have been 40 of them), a A6 Audi also is close in shape, but its real heavy, I used the manual Volvo one, its much lighter. I am sure that a more modern crewcab/big SUV roof might be better, I bought on price, the Volvo one was 19.99 on 1/2 off sale weekend at PYP
Need some help / ideas ... Ok so I have a '73 CC that I put a 9" lift on, and transplanted the engine ( 400 cu in) and Tranny ( C6 ) into from a '78 F-150. This seemed like a really good idea at the time.
The problem I am facing is the drive lines, the front drive line is going to be extremely steep, and the rear drive line extremely long ( will have to be a 2-piece). This is due to the fact that I am using the NP 205 which is married to the back of the C6 instead of the divorced 205 that was in the truck ('73). The option I was thinking to help with all of this is to run the transmission and transfer case that were already in the truck when I got it, I think the tranny is a 4-speed but not sure of the make. I am pretty sure its the original that was in the truck *help*. This should help with both drive line angles and hopefully save me some money from having to have custom ones made. The other thing is ... the tranny has no bell housing on it, does anyone know if I can find one that will mate up to a 400 cu in? This truck is going to be used for Off-Road and won't see much street. Any thoughts?
