I had my truck at the dealership today. They said they can see that 200 units have been released from the manufacturer as of today 7/1. 38 compressors are shipping directly to dealers as "emergency parts" and the rest are going to regional distributors to be sent to dealerships. They were hopeful to get one in about 2 weeks.
Have dealerships been offering anything to you guys about covering rental costs? Do Ford Dealerships out there still offer loaner vehicles? I rented a truck myself, but curious how much Ford might be willing to help out on that end.
Compressor replaced Today. Belt was also replaced. No other parts. Just Compressor and Belt. So far its blowing cold.
Now the fight starts to get my rental reimburreimbursed.

Truck picked up at dealership today. Compressor replacement. So far, ice, ice cold. Hopefully for good!
Today the dealership had received the third compressor, they installed it, and did extensive testing with it. I went to pick it up and it was blowing cold air and it made it all the way home still blowing cold air everything seems to be working great now. Hopefully this compressor will be durable enough to make it for a long time, time will tell. But right now I'm extremely happy to get my truck back with working AC. So basically you can probably Mark me off unless it fails again but so far I think this time it will stay working. Basically I went through a little suction hose, thermal expansion valve, receiver dryer and burn through two compressors and I'm on my third compressor now and everything is holding steady.
I would once again want to thank the guy that posted the email address for the CEO of customer relations I believe it was and when I had emailed him, they contacted me literally the next day. After that I was down for a long time waiting on my compressor, but they would call me up every week and updating the status of the compressor and they pretty much took charge of the repair by communicating with the dealership and organizing high priority parts and everything else. They gave me a loaner vehicle for the almost 2 months I believe it could have been 2 months I haven't really checked the calendar yet but it seems like it's been two months but I've had a rental vehicle the whole time. I have to give credit where credit is due once I got a hold of the right people at Ford they did me good to remedy the problem. Right now I'm blowing nice and cool air right now and I'm very grateful for it, I hope everybody on this forum we'll get back up running quickly and definitely corporate is the way to go to get the ball running and get back running as quickly as possible. It's a shame that you have to go this high up in the food chain to get things done but I know that they have a lot of other issues going on at Ford as well besides the 250 AC issues. Good luck everybody and I hope everybody gets up running really quickly there trying to get compressors out as fast as they can and hopefully this was nothing more than just a bad batch of compressors.
For those of you that have had the compressor replaced: how long did it take the mechanic to do it? (I live 2.5 hours from the dealership and wonder if I will need to make plans).
Mine doesn't see on the invoice, they got the part in right at close and they had it ready for me right in the morning when they open up. I would only think it would take him about an hour to change out the compressor and probably an hour to recharge and make sure everything is good they can probably get it done I'm thinking in 2 hours they had mine done pretty quick but then again it was done early in the morning when they open up I'm speculating I would say probably 1 to 2 hours.
That job takes longer than that. The system has to sit under vacuum to suck out all the old refrigerant, then the mechanical work to install, then sit under vacuum again to pull all air/moisture out, then recharge the system. Your tech is not going to sit with his thumb up his butt while those evacuations take place. He has to make money on other jobs. I think most people are without their trucks for at least 2 days, and that's if they jump right on it when it comes in (not likely either). Mine took 3 days. I actually picked it up on the 4th day, but that was my own delay.
2024 F-250 Super Duty Platinum
7.3 L Godzilla
Built 04/15/2024
Purchased 07/03/2024
Failed 08/02/2024
Mileage at time of failure 923
Failed at normal highway speed on I-10. Stopped at the dealership on my way home and was told to bring in in tomorrow morning. Today the heat index was over 110F and inside the truck it was unbearable. Service advisor guessed that the compressor failed as they already have 4 other 2024 F-250s waiting for a compressor. He stated that the wait could be 30 days or longer. Being disabled and living in Texas I will not be able to drive the truck due to it being potentially dangerous to my health. Service advisor also stated that a loaner will not be provided until a compressor is available. Extremely disappointed in Ford quality.

Dropped mine off at the dealer and it took about 2 days.

The same day, I had an early AM dropoff and picked up that night. Every dealership is different.

Unfortunately it came to this but it is a reality that often times companies do get their act together with a "spike action" when their executives are getting personally contacted instead of having customers patiently waiting behind a layer of customer support agents. It is possible the C-suite may not realize how bad things were with the AC issue initially, or if they have an idea, don't get directly involved until literally their last bastion of loyal buyers left(full size truck buyers) are contacting them directly out of frustration dealing with support and dealers.
We can only hope that Ford puts some more attention to quality control AND customer relations, and not take the easy way out and shield the executives from customer emails going forward to make things sound fine in corp meetings while customers are out of their 80-100k vehicles. Squeaky wheels, and all that.
What email address? Mine is on back order- Brand new
