2024 AC Failure tracking thread

8/18/24 IT'S BEEN OVER 2 MONTHS SINCE I STARTED THIS LIST.

I am going to no longer update the list since it seems that dealers are receiving parts more quickly now.

F250 CCLB, 7.3 Lariat
Built 3/21/24
Delivered 4/19/24
Failed 5/26/24, 1,289 miles
Dealer diagnosed failed compressor 5/29/24 (returned the truck to me same day), 1,300 miles
Compressor ordered but is on national backorder. Current odometer 1,434 and climbing

Edit 7/10/2024: Truck is repaired and returned to me. Compressor was "seized internally" per the tech. System was inspected for debris and none was found. Mileage at time of repair, 2,488.

Post all info and for resolution state compressor back ordered date. I'll input what I can and I'll post a running spreadsheet on the first posting as I update it.

2024 F-450 Platinum 6.7 HO
Build Date 03/2024
1200 Miles
Still Pending a fix
Now has 4200 miles on
Replaced EVAP on 4 Jun (nightmare getting EVAP) Not happy with my new truck having to be torn apart.
Diag with Bad Compressor 6 Jun. Was told over 500 on national backorder and Ford is only releasing 75 a week. Called Customer care and dealer received on the next day. Dealer has had Compressor since12 Jun and still waiting to be fixed
Update…
Dealership finally decided to work on the truck after have the new compressor for 6 days and was completed on the 7th Day 18 Jun 2024. So far it is blowing cold air. I’m not holding my breath though!

How do I find the actual day it was built? Build date on the door says 4/24

2024 F-250 Lariat 7.3L
800 miles when AC went out
Waiting on compressor. Dealer said they have another new Super Duty in the shop for the same problem. The other day there were 6 dealers in the country with compressors in stock, but my dealer could not get any of them to sell one to them. Probably because they know they will need them for their own service department sooner rather than later.

I don’t know what brand. It is a r134a system. I did crawl under truck at dealer and the compressor is turning.

2024 F250 Lariat 6.7L Crew
Build Date: 3/25/24
Purchased: 5/3/24
Mileage when AC went out: 940 miles
Date brought to service: 5/31
Parts arrived for repair: 6/14
Took truck home: 6/15

Had new compressor, TXV and desiccant bag installed. Tech noted metal shavings in system after refrigerant flush.

Has been blowing cold the past week and have put about 600 miles on it since picking up.

Good luck guys. It F-ing sucks Ford let this get out of hand and have/had us all waiting weeks for parts but I left my truck at service the whole time and insisted on COPIS and emergency tickets for those parts and they did eventually end up getting there.

Go to a solid dealer too and show them this and get the right parts ordered.

Seems like the ticket for most is the compressor and valve.
