Can you please post your service work order, so that members who are similarly affected can compare work orders to see what is common, and note what is different, between repairs by various dealers to fix the issue?
For example, it would be instructive to compare your work order with the work order posted by jcaaron99 upthread in Post #151.

Sure, here it is. Just the compressor and the other two parts are just the seals for hose connections. I was happy to see that the tech confirmed he had checked for debris and found none. I just have to take his word for it and hope he is right. Happy with how my dealer handled it all. I had the work done at the dealer whom I purchased from, and they are not the closest one to home. I think that gets you a little bit of good will compared to another dealer.
I want to thank the person that found this email address below theodore.cannis@ford.com , I had been waiting over a month for parts with no end in sight, and I have called every 800 Ford number I could find and complain everywhere on the planet. I emailed the CEO as the one guy had posted which I think him so much for this which got the ball rolling. His assistant had called me literally the next day and had the parts that I needed. I arrived at the dealer, and the truck was worked on. it had a new AC compressor, thermal expansion valve and low pressure line. it was flushed for over 5 hours brought back up and I went to pick it up. I tested it before I left and everything was working great, and I will give credit to the dealer they have been so great to me while I've been waiting and it's not their fault because of lack of parts by no means. However I will have to take it back unfortunately there's still something going on with the system, it blows out extremely Ice Cold Air on full AC but the minute you take it off of Full AC it starts pumping out hot air again. Again everything worked great at the dealership and everything worked good on my 45 minute ride home, as I was pulling in I noticed that it started getting hot again. One thing I did find out by testing if I leave it is in the high mode and the RPMs are above a thousand it will blow cold air out, the minute I take it out of the high setting and go to any other setting it starts blowing warm air. I did find out if you turn the AC on and off again for some reason it reset something and it will start blowing cold air out again but only in the highest setting . So at least I have something blowing to get me through the weekend and then I'll have to take it back to them I don't know what's going on but if I leave it in the highest settings it'll blow cold air as long as I'm moving, but if I put it in a low setting or if I pull up at the light for a long time even in a high setting in high temperature It will blow hot air and i have to turn the AC off and turn it back on and then it will blow back cold air again I have no idea what's going on with it. I will try to see if I can attach the pictures of my build date which was in February 1, and it's a F-250 XL 6.8 L V8. So at least I'm making some progress I hope to get this intermittent problem out and hopefully it's not another compressor. it may be a bad compressor I may have got a bad new compressor. I'm not sure I'll have to see what the dealer finds but it was a lot of metal shavings in the system and they worked for 5 hours getting all that stuff out. my hat goes out to them, they've been working really hard to get me back up. Hopefully this may help somebody just to give you some information I'll keep you updated. And I also want to thank the quick response from the Ford team that is attached to this email they are really concerned about customer quality and that gives me a great sense of wanting to keep the truck and not get rid of it if possible. I just wish the other numbers that we've tried or as cooperative as the corporate email. That was the only way that I could get the ball rolling.
Here's my problem. Ford is prioritizing new production over existing sales. Someone in Ford has made this decision. Typically, you may have two weeks to a month of parts ready at the factory. Simple math means that they have 15K to 30K parts in Kentucky, but won't allocate those to dealers to service existing customers.
January 2024: Ford produced 31K Super Dutys in Kentucky and 2.2K in Ohio.
February 2024: Pretty much the same. Total Super Duty production was 33K trucks.
Numbers were from Ford Authority Website.
Ford could resolve this within a few weeks if they would just release the parts...
Not just Ford. Every manufacturer I know does the same thing. Took me 10 months to get spare axles for my new Polaris Xpedition.
I had my truck at the dealership today. They said they can see that 200 units have been released from the manufacturer as of today 7/1. 38 compressors are shipping directly to dealers as "emergency parts" and the rest are going to regional distributors to be sent to dealerships. They were hopeful to get one in about 2 weeks.
Have dealerships been offering anything to you guys about covering rental costs? Do Ford Dealerships out there still offer loaner vehicles? I rented a truck myself, but curious how much Ford might be willing to help out on that end.
They put my truck back together and I've been driving it for the 7 weeks while the compressor is on back-order. I take it Monday for my new compressor. Dealer does offer loaners but all the loaners were out when I made the appointment last week. He could not guarentee a loaner would be available as the loaners "come and go" as available.
Replacing the AC clutch was the first thing theu did to for me. The AC actually worked: for about 20 minutes. Took the truck right back when they tinkered with it for an hours while I sat in the lounge. Then they said it needed a new compressor. That was 7 weeks ago. Now the compressor is in, taking the truck on Monday. I hope that's the final solution
Indeed. No way I'd ever consider driving a personal vehicle in Mexico. Let alone a truck valued at $100k plus. Might as well walk around with fistfuls of dollars with a big sign that says "rob me" with Spanish translation.
The dealer I took it to was very good to me they tried to get me a rental but there was no rentals available they gave me a brand new F-150 two wheel drive to drive around until they had it fixed, it did not cost me anything but I did buy my truck from them so they are and have been good to me. Looks like I'll be driving a two wheel drive again very shortly. They are working really hard to try to figure out what's going on with this and getting parts is very difficult to say the least as you are well aware of. But the dealer you bought the truck from should do what they can to get you into something if they're a decent dealership
Why would a dealer insist on keeping your truck while they wait for an A/C unit? Even if they had removed it, why not spend a couple hours and put the bad unit back in? Unplug the clutch if necessary, but leaving it sit around would **** me off. It just seems lazy to not find a way to get it back to drivable. Or cheap, because Ford won't pay that labor.
In their defense, they offered me a rental at first and I told them no I want to keep my truck so they put the old compressor back in and yes they did disconnect the clutch and they capped the lines. After week two and may talking with them with no end in sight for parts I asked for a rental at that time, and it was none available because they were given rentals out for other trucks with the same issue. So they gave me a brand new 2024 F150 with 7 miles on it two wheel drive to drive around until they could get parts in to get me back up and running which I used it as a commuter vehicle back and forth to work. It got incredibly good gas mileage I was pretty impressed with that but it was not my truck. After I emailed the CEO as above, they got all the parts I need in and they put it back together and they tested it for at least an hour after a 5-hour Purge and it worked good then but when they gave it to me I picked it up after they had tested it for an hour drove it for another 45 minutes home and then it started failing again. I won't know what's next until probably Monday when I can get a hold of him again. They definitely won't my business and they don't want me to Lemon Law the truck which I don't blame them and I don't want to do that as well as long as they can get me a working truck. So we have been working with each other back and forth trying to get me back up and running. They've been very good to me and I can't complain about that they are a decent dealership. It's not their fault that it came from the factory was that defect it has some other defects too I've been living with but that's the one that is the deal killer.
it has some other defects too I've been living with but that's the one that is the deal killer.
No one can blame a customer for getting a little hot under the collar in the middle July during a nationwide heatwave when the air conditioning is defective on a brand new 100K vehicle.
It is a testament to customer patience how tolerant most who have checked in here with their stories have been.
And it is a testament to Ford that Ford is following up, slowly but surely, in fixing the problem.
Picked up my truck from AC being replaced/repaired, yesterday. The AC is nice and cold. Temps are supposed to be 98F-100F, this week. Thanks, Mr. Cannis for getting this taken care of!
No updates as of last week on when a compressor will arrive. I had to use my truck to haul the camper on the 4th, drove early, windows down, it was bearable. Was in Colorado this past week for work. Driving without ac in 98 degrees was very doable. Got back Friday to Houston... It's not happening. I picked up a rental myself until the truck is fixed. Dealer is requesting a long term rental agreement from Ford but said it could take a week or two to get approved. Until then, the Tundra AC works great. 🤷♂️
