We purchased this truck in February and with only a few thousand miles, the AC is out! We are currently in Mexico, we are here for the next 2 weeks and are supposed to be road tripping. Our 2nd day here and the AC is blowing hot air! After googling, my husband ran into the forum and it's upsetting to say the least. What are we supposed to do now? We have a 15hr drive back home with 3 kids! FORD NEEDS TO DO BETTER!
Does your theft insurance cover your truck in Mexico? Your problems may be solved if it does. They may be solved even if your insurance doesn't cover it while there.
Incredibly brave driving around in Mexico right now with cartel activity, and in a nearly new Superduty on top of that. Braver than I am for sure.
Might not be a bad idea to leave the keys in it and walk away LOL. Then maybe wait until end of year to see if they finally resolved the AC issue -or not- to get another truck.
I was in a dealership in Corpus Christi today and the salesman said they have two brand new Superduties in their shop right now waiting on AC compressors, and didn't know exactly how many hundreds of compressors are on back order, but it is a bunch. He didn't even bat an eye when I brought it up, they definitely are aware of the problem.

Typical US auto policies are not valid in Mexico. In Canada your US coverage is usually fine. Mexico you have to get a special separate policy or better yet get a rental unless you really know what you're doing.
Thank You Flyct for taking the time to do this track chart, but I have a bad feeling there are more folks out there with this problem, good luck to everyone on getting this matter fixed, FORD where are you? Get these issues fixed!!!

My relatively small dealer has at least six 2024s waiting on compressors. There are 2800+ dealerships in the United States, and yes, I realize not everywhere in the US is "truck country". So, if we pick only 1/2 of those and go with a very low 3 failures per dealership, then that very generous number is over 4000 trucks with failing ACs. Of course, this is a WAG, but Ford can crank out hundreds of vehicles a day, and who knows how many trucks where built over the ~3 month period that seems to fall in line with these failures.
I have a 2024 F250 King Ranch 6.7L HO with build date of April 2024 and my compressor went out two weeks ago around 1,000 miles. Like everyone else, it is on backorder. Will follow up with any updates.
My service rep called me back. Supposedly Ford or the supplier is releasing 1500 compressors and sending them to the packager for distribution. And then he tells me it could still be a month before we see one.
Silver Pilate, we can only hope these compressors will get to everyone as soon as possible, cause its blazing hot now and from some sites I am reading, folks are having 2nd thoughts about placing an order for a new Ford Super Duty and are monitoring this site and some others to see how FORD handles this issue. FORD are YOU LISTENING????????
Anything built after 2019 to me is a real gamble with the supply chain issues and gimmicky transmission that ensued following that, and this is just another example of why I wouldn't buy a new one. Ford had no trouble building a vehicle with an air conditioner that worked just fine 20-30 years ago but nowadays? Whoa now don't get your hopes up.
Is Ford planning to swap out just the failed compressor on these 2024s? Or the entire system? Because my 2020 compressor failed, then got replaced, then failed again, 7 trips to stealership, no AC from 20K miles to 35K miles and it wasnt until this last compressor change out then started blowing hot while leaving the service department so i drove it right back, they changed out most of the system lines and other components. Now I have AC but am preparing to sell the truck as its completely unreliable and Im embarrassed to be in a FORD now.

I for one can guarantee I am not buying a truck off of any dealer inventory with up to current build date. Until there is fairly substantial evidence that there is lasting resolution to this problem, I am NOT going to order a Superduty truck. Period. There is no excuse for this to be happening.
After the first few bad compressors were discovered, the line should have been halted and supply chain or design issues should have been nipped in the bud. No one who is aware of this problem can justify buying a truck until a known build date for problem free AC systems and going forward is known.

If an A/C compressor frags out then really the only correct way to fix it is replace everything. That being said it should be 20 years before that happens depending of course on how many hours the compressor racks up. My Mom's 2000 Explorer they bought new still has the original A/C that's never been serviced and it even still sort of works. (getting a little weak)
