If everyone approves, I propose we change FTN's user name to FordTruckNextlevel.
No need to change the acronym in your contact list, FTN still applies.
It's just that Nextlevel is vastly more appropriate than Noob.
LOL! You flatter me sir. I don't know if I could live up to such a splendiferous moniker though.

My IC pipe was off by a bit, but not nearly that much. I was able to overcome the difference in angles with a slightly longer boot than what CSD sent to join the tube and turbo. Maybe his tube bender was drunk when he made that one Leonard. At least you have the skills and tools to change something like that to make it perfect.

I believe one thing that really helped mine was pulling the CAC out from the IC so it was a spaced fit using the boot. This let me adjust the angle a little better by twisting the tube.
But I bet yours will fit better.
I’m all in for changing FTN’s name!
Thanks. I really dislike compensating for misaligned tubing in the elastomeric connection. I've had a few fail on me prematurely in other vehicles when I did that.
I think maybe you're being way too generous to the company with that statement. I think he's darn near in Beta tester territory with all the hardware issues he's going thru with it
Should I perform the modification with a connector as shown? Or should I cut a proper plug, weld it in, sand it smooth and make it look like the pipe was made that way all along?
Blows my mind its off by that much. Like Sous said, you have the time, might as well do it right. Its more headache upfront but you'll thank yourself later. This is an A+ build so far, now isn't the the time to cut corners if you dont have to.
If this is a kit from CSD that was advertised to work for the given application and upfit, then why not send photos to CSD and ask them to mandrel bend a tube that fits?
I made a similar request to Banks Power, when, after 20 years of tolerating the slight offset of the cold side tube provided with their Power Pack, which eventually resulted in a cracked hump hose (hump hoses are good at resolving slight offsets), I telephoned Banks on a whim of frustration and said "Surely, you must have had enough complaints by now to have redesigned this tube, and I would like one." A very loooooooonng wait on hold ensued, I assume while engineering drawings were checked. I already knew that Banks has there own mandrel bending equipment, because I have seen it in action in person. At long last, they came back and said "Sorry for the wait, we will send you a new tube for the cost of shipping". Since it took me 20 years to register my complaint, I thought this was fair, and a week later, a new tube showed up that fit perfectly.
If it has been less than a year since you bought your CSD kit, see if they will make it right, rather than you having to tig weld and then pressure test a home built tube. You've got enough on your plate to fix up to get back on the road again. Let them fix their own mistakes. (I say this without really knowing anything about CSD kits... just what is gathered from glancing at these threads now and again).
I agree it's a good call to contact but, CSD is NOT Banks. The owner of CSD is a salty, old school guy who needs convincing you have an issue. I had fitment issues (as others did too) with the downpipe and it was more of a begrudgingly obliged scenario to get a replacement. The 2nd downpipe isn't perfect either but I couldn't get him to try for a 3rd and so, I still have the imperfect 2nd downpipe. Curious to see how your call goes.
I dont understand how there can be an fitment issue in mass produced kit, which have been in production for years..Surely all major(Irate,CSD and Obsession) manufacturers have test fitted their kit in stock confiquration..🐒
This Turbonator is a little different story, since it has that controller box attached in turbine housing. And it is relatively new for 7.3..
