I’ve got the WW2 with less than 5000 miles on it so I’m sticking with that wheel.
Does the KC 360° rebuild come with pedestal o-rings or do I need that as a separate kit?
Turbo reinstall... loosen the manifold to up pipes... loosen up pipes to collector... place turbo, connect baby’s butt, retighten ups to manifold and collector.
Are those reusable gaskets or do I need to order those as well.
Just want to make sure I have everything on hand before I tear into it.
Yes, rebuild kit includes pedestal o-rings AFAIK.
I WOULD NOT loosen manifold to up-pipe bolts. You should be able to remove turbo from collector and put it back without doing anything to bellowed up-pipes.
See my thread in the tech folder about installing bellowed up-pipes for tricks that take the hassle and some of the aggravation out of this job.
The KC S300 turbine and RDP 4+4 wheel is fine and at least a few people here (FTE) are running that. I think there may be advantages to the KC 6x6 with the extended tips - but have never had a chance to make a direct comparison. I am impressed with the balanced assembly and will recommend and buy it again.
Just wondering if I can use a portion of the hard fuel feed lines that I take off for the H & H in tank pickup or is it a different size? I have some copper, but know that isn't good. Aluminum would be easier to bend, but if I have the steel lines and they will work why not use a piece of that.
Turbo, what is an acceptable amount of shaft play, up / down, in / out. Yup I bet there will be more than one joke running through heads right now. I haven't checked mine yet, but want to know when I do open it up so I can either postpone for next years maintenance or do it now.
Still collecting parts before I tear into it. So far have the rdp fuel feed lines, diesel o-rings fuel bowl rebuild kit. rdp jic hpop lines, and frx are still in transit but have cleared Canada customs.
It would be nice to do each one step at a time and measure db reading at each step to have a quantifiable number for each, but to me that seems like a lot of put together take apart so when I start I'm all in. I've driven it for 16 years as is and the current db hasn't bothered me ( much ).
Don’t remove any hard lines for the in-tank and pre-pump mods. I do not recommend eliminating the quick connect fitting at the tank.
You can use steel, coated steel or other ‘brake line’ tubing you can source locally inside the tank. Copper is probably fine if you never use biodiesel blends.
Parts have arrived at the local post office from RDP. They won’t deliver to the house since I owe 12% taxes and Canada Customs handling fee.
Now to find the time to get it done, between the bathroom reno, and wedding planning for my oldest daughter.
It sucks you have to deal with the hassle of buying parts from the United States. In the case mentioned above, you have to go to the post office, pay the fees and then receive the package?
Congratulations on the wedding, we all wish your daughter and fiance the best of luck.

Yup. Off to the post office as it has been sent collect.
RDP writes out their shipping slip and value of purchase.
Canada customs converts to Canadian $$$ value and taxes me appropriately, then just for good measure they tag on a handling fee.
Pre- COVID-19
I used to get around this by using a vendor called Ship Happens. They are just across the border in Sumas Washington. I would park on the Canada side, walk across, collect my parts, and walk back across. The shipping cost if parcel stays in the states is substantially cheaper, and CBSA has never made me pay when walking across with my package.

Hey I’m not far from the border. You could have your parts delivered to my place and then we have a secret meeting place in the forest. We could even set up a fake moonshine still to make it more legit.

Mmmmm... Copperhead Road.
A still and moonshine sounds like fun and makes the campfire even more legit. Things to keep us warm.
Seriously though, I’m not sneaking across under the cover of darkness through the forest.
I once had a CBSA agent ask me what was in the box.
A- Dirtbike parts worth $XXX.00
Q- you sure about that?
A- I dunno, haven’t opened the box yet.
Q- don’t you think you should know what your crossing the border with.
A- ummm, you got a good point there.
I opened the box there and it was the chain and sprockets like I ordered. Never tried to cross with an unopened box again. Once Covid is over and the border is opened up again I will go back to using “ship happens”.
I can’t answer your question but I also had trouble finding the 30R9 spec hose when I did my truck. Advance Auto ended up having it. At that time the part number was AC503P but that number is no longer valid.
Recently I did Dad’s truck and again found the hose at Advance Auto. I had to watch them closely though as they at first cut me the wrong material.
I think Carquest is the same store in some other areas.
It would be nice to get the Hydra but the $$$ are not available right now. Had a 3 week layoff, and only working 4 days per week now due to Covid. Next year at spring maintenance time I’ll slip it in to the budget 🤫.
Bit of a side note on that. Last year I was talking with a guy about our trucks and he gave me a number for a local tuner. Said he is amazing with the 7.3’s. Dan Krapnick is the contact info he gave me. Less than 2 miles from my house. Anybody heard of him???
Back on task.
How do I get the stock stereo out of the hole without a saws-all... that would be quick but the carnage would be bad. Read somewhere about a removal tool but I’m sure the smart guys here have figured out a way to hillbilly it without it costing a $0.01.
SDK diesel in Langley buddy. The guy knows 7.3 inside out. Very good honest work.Shouldd be not far from you.

Thanks for that. Not sure if you kept reading through the thread after that post.
Since then Dan has done some work on my tranny as well as live tuned my truck.
