Les-Glad to hear that you finally found(hopefully) the issue. It is very frustrating when you are chasing and diagnosing gremlins and second guessing yourself. It is so much easier to diagnose something so obvious as a line leaking. Hats off to you for not giving up.
Hopefully you will have many trouble free miles driving/towing.
A troubleshooting chart would be great for the tech folder. Sometimes it is the simple tests get you pointed in the right direction.A perfect example are truck/trailer lighting issues. Both my boys know that the first thing to do is plug one of my4 pin and 7 pin light testers into the truck side trailer plug and see if the truck side is working or not and also make sure any grounds are clean. Saves going down the rabbit hole and wasting time.
Spotted this today and wanted to share just in case. Dieselorings shows the orientation of the poppet seat. This must be something common to mix up. I probably would have put it the other direction without instruction. Been a while since I’ve been in mine (hopefully mine’s good lol).
Well shucks! With all the trouble you’ve been going through I was hoping to maybe have stumbled upon something. I knew a long shot but didn’t want to notice the possibility and not share the thought.
Your photo fix was funny. Glad your humor is still there after all of this!
I’m also going to create a fuel pressure diagnosis flow chart to be considered for the Tech folder.
Could have saved myself a boatload of money and time if I did the two tests done today in the very beginning.
Well done sir! I agree with Rob (comment below) that we as a community would greatly appreciate a diagnosis flow chart. You may have spent a lot of money and time learning the way, but you could also save someone a lot of money and time teaching them the way.
