No problem. It's all good. I will know more on mine when pull the right side off. But think mine will function fine for now. Will keep my eyes open for a stock hub. There is a shop who makes them I was just trying to stay stock where I can.
Is there a shop that makes them?? If you know of one, please post their contact info... I would like to find some and go back to my original hubs... The chrome parts are in good shape, and I can have them re-chromed...

I have not bought any from them, so can not speak to fit and function. But I have them marked in case I need one or a set. I am going to keep looking for the OEM as I only need one.
I see that ever so often theirs always a fellow fte member looking for one of those little new red hub selectors. So may be buying new ones or going with the brass warn selectors maybe a smart move as 40+ yr old plastic seems to fail now & then an getting up like what gold is in equal amounts.
I've had my truck so long that, I've have replaced the replacement parts a few times. Before computer become common place in almost every ones home, I made runs to the junk yard for parts. And now after having a computer new doors have opened.
So, I've found NOS to replace the old second hand junk yard stuff I've used for years.
So hopefully, I don't have to replace any hard to find parts on my truck unless, I out live those oem nos parts useful condition before handing over to keys to my son some day. But I want it to look & run like new when he gets it.
This is from last month when we put the truck bed and rear bumper on the bump. The bumper had to be beat out a little as you can see in pic. I have been out of commission with a lower back issue the last couple of days, so going thru pics.
"I have been out of commission with a lower back issue the last couple of days, so going thru pics." Ya gotta quit dating those fat girls- just kidding- I think the only thing worse than a hurt back is hurt ribs, but they both suck. And it's really bad in the winter. Just take it easy and rest up!
Thanks F250,
I just ordered the red aluminum hub actuators, from TK, in Billings MT.. and sure glad that I am not up there today, with temps in the 10's and 30 mph winds.
They are pricey little buggers, at $99.98 ea.. My bill for 2, plus the gasket sets, plus the pins, plus shipping came to $230 and change... I was told that they are working on getting the chrome outer hub made from Stainless, which will be too nice to pass up... They also said that the aluminum actuators are made from a solid billet aluminum, machined and anodized.. Should outlast the plastic ones by years..and years.. I will bring my outer hubs North, and have them re-chromed... so when all done, it will be back to better than original..
I agree with fe390 / post pics and let us know about the quality. Also, thank orich for the hub tip. He found them and pointed in right direction. Thanks orich!

LOL... I appreciate the poke. I hurt my ribs once and you are right that was no fun.
You can set up an alert on ebay when someone post some for sale.
I think ya can do that also on C/LIST auto parts page.
And pirate 4x4 under the WTB listing as well as FTE site market place
Orich
Thanks for that big tip! Going to set up alerts for ebay, C/list, and pirate 4x4... I will do a search to figure out the "how to" for each site. But I was not aware a person could even do that, so thanks again. Working as a team always works better...

Hmm yes, I walked the line myself in the hunt for parts for my closed knuckle axle.
Then after running down every lead possible even getting the backing plates welded up on the shoe pads then getting those milled down for correct height an all.
Also found a guy to weld up the deep inner seal grooves in the axle then turned them down to correct OD size. Then chased down new spindles.
Yes, I rebuild or replaced as much as, I could but still the long axle had a slight tweak in it.. This was when, I really found out that if, I ever broke an axle, I'd have to find a used one which at time is not so easy waiting for someone to part one out and finding it. I always kept that in mine if the day ever came when, I'd come across one what would, I do that's my story:
A yr later was when, I came across a 1976 open end disc brake axle.
So had to go through it and completely rebuild it with New stronger new axles an swapped ring& pinon out for my 4:09
So, I found my way around the net web sites a couple of times looking for axle stuff an remember who has what still.
Hope you can find what you need to finish up your front axle.
