Sorry Dusty I see now someone else already mentioned that place and you said it was out of business. Hate to hear that!
Josh, not my engine! I'm more the type to stop driving it and fix it before it gets that bad, young kids hard headed! hahaha. I hope I can have this back up and running by the end of the week, I'm planning to go back by on Friday and wrench a little.

North Raleigh radiator quoted me at $40 to fix it, heard good about them, gonna give them a shot, they do repair antique radiators, so we'll see. Got off next week from work, so I'll be taking it in asap.
Yesterday after I finished hooking up the steering column I dropped the batt. in and no smoke so feeling brave I turned the key to on, 1 dash light came on (seat belt), still no smoke so got brave again and cranked the motor for a bit.
All sounded good so a little gas (lacquer thinner) down the carb and it fired right up.
I only ran it on what I put in the carb but was happy it fired up after what all was done to the truck.
Last time I had it running was early Dec 2015 when I brought the truck home and took in all apart.

When cranking it the key did not want to move too well or return from start so yesterday (snuck out to garage, family here) I dropped the column and removed the IGN switch.
Sure enough it was stiff, parts truck sat with no doors for a bit think did not help.
Pulled the switch from the other column and it was not much better.
Found my can of electrical cleaner & lube and hit both switches, used the best of the 2 on my truck and all is good now.
I was also able to drill screw holes and mount the 2 front cab mount access covers to the floor.
Just little things but they have to get done.

I wish I had half your getup n go, Dave.
That truck is really coming along.........
I was off thru to the day after xmas and that is all I did to the truck so far, I have been a little lazy.
I did have family here Fri for our xmas get together. Sister & BIL heading back to CT from FL stopped for 2 days and I have my brother here from CA and why we had xmas dinner early.
I should get out to the garage and get something more done on the bed as that and the hood are the last things that need work before painting come spring time now that it is too cold to paint.

Did the actuator on mine, used white lithium grease, works well.
North Raleigh automotive fixed the radiator, flushed it and tested it, did me really good on the price. Only like 2 miles from downtown or so. Wasn't sure what to think being in North Raleigh, but it's a hole in the wall shop run by three good ol boys, very experienced and friendly. The old petcock was crimped in, at least now I can switch it out if it happens again.
Hey Rusty that is great, sounds like a good place. Do you know if they do gas tanks too, usually a radiator place is a good spot to have an tank repaired as well.

Not sure, also found out a guy that worked at Sapps in Garner opened a radiator shop up on mechanical Blvd, I'm guessing at the old Sapps location.
