The big sub wouldn't fit in the box? Or you decided to put it under the seat instead? Either way, the console and re purposed cup holders look awesome.

Because of the angle of the hump going upwards as it gets closer to the firewall, the sub box had to sit at such an angle that I could not fit the amp inside the box with it. So it was one or the other. I figured leave the amp inside the console and put the sub under the seat, but I definitely need to get some rubber feet like Josh was talking about to soften the backside, otherwise I will have a lot of rattles as the metal backside of the sub box rests on top of one of the metal ribs that run along the floor pan underneath.

James I did get it installed, but was not able to fit the subwoofer box inside it. I've got it under the seat but still need to work something out regarding the adjustment cable.
Yes, he put 35 watt hid bulbs in them, in a large housing like a headlight, they do fine, in a smaller housing, they get too hot. Nice job on the console. Is the seat adjustment cable a piece of wire like later trucks?

It's actually hard line, kind of like a coat hanger. I was thinking to cut it and put a turn buckle in the middle for adjustment. All without removing the seat if possible

John, I've replaced a couple using safety wire. It can wrap tight enough to do the job...

on another note.. I just got off the phone with Banks... OUCH... but I should have some shiny new parts for the old truck here soon.

Well I may try out safety wire for mine, I do still need to figure a way to route it UP and over the sub instead of just stretched tightly across the face of it.

James I appreciate your offer to help with the leaf springs, but I knew something didn't sound right about this coming Saturday. Finally about 2 hours later it dawned on me, I agreed to go to G'boro with my buddy Paul, he wants to check out the classic car auction this weekend. Biggest one in our area, as I understand it. I will tackle that leaf spring job a different weekend.

I have some laying around and some very cool safety wire pliers that are always fun to try out. I like neat tools like that.

I've never heard of the GAA Classic. I have been a couple of times to the Raleigh Classic, and if it's bigger than that one then you are going to need a bib for all the drool (least wise I would).

I've got to be down towards Sanford this weekend for something un-related but I'll see if I can grab a shot of Butch's new 50's Buick, and maybe one of his other classic if it's back from the body shop yet.

Now I'm just (im)patiently waiting on the Banks Exhaust kit to arrive. Hoping it resolves all my exhaust leak issues as well as providing a lot of shiny new parts for my old truck.

Well I tossed a new alternator on the Dually this afternoon, I tried to get it to crank but the batteries were just to dead. Guess I gotta snag a new Battery too.

I've also heard good **** about this stuff in the oil and fuel, so I guess we will see if it helps with my sticky injector.

Josh are the kind of pliers where you connect the wire to the nose, and pull the end, and the pliers spin as it wraps the 2 wires together? I've never owned a pair, but seen them used before.

Yep that is what they are. After I used them the first time, I had to have a pair... because you know.. a tool box can never be too full..

Tossed a new Battery at the 7.3, she fired right up and purred like a kitten. Seemed to be holding about 14.3v with the lights and ac on.

Well got a little more done to the truck, finishes up the wiring, and spun the truck over a few times. Then I started sanding on the body a little bit trying to get it prepped for paint.

Spent a little time trying to get the truck to hit off, got the wife out there and turn it over while I poked around testing things. Turns out the coil was dead do I stolen the one off the Other truck and got great spark. Then the fuel in it was a little old so I poured a little fresh gas in the carb and she busted right off.

I see you guys have been busy on your truck too.
Since I last posted of getting the flare side bed side panels lips welded, holes drilled and made squared for carriage bolts I have done more work to them.
I stripped the paint off to bare metal. This was after I did a quick strip and found rust so why down to bare metal.
First quick strip.

Then wiped them down with an acid to kill rust and let sit for a few days. After a few days to work in I rinsed with water and dried off. Did a little Bondo, hammer & dolly work and hit the bed side and front header panels with primer.

I then started the mock up again of the bed sides & header to the floor now on the truck. I was having a hard time getting things to line up then it hit me this is the first time since I welded the lips on the sides.
A little trimming with the cut off wheel and I was able to get the sides & front header panels bolted together.
Once bolted together I was able to get the holes on the lips lined up to holes on the floor when I first started this build on horses. I was then able to drill holes down the bed side lips for carriage bolts and put washer & nuts on them. It looked like this.

I drilled small holes in the front panel lip and floor for bolts because I did not know if I could get nuts on bolts for it but I also picked up U-nuts to use. I also could not get nuts on 4 bolts, 2 each side.
Pulled the sides & front panels back off the floor and found I can not use the U-nuts on the front panel to floor so the bolts I got and the small holes & could just run the bolts into the floor and that is 2 layers of metal.
Was going to use the U-nut on 1 of the side bolts and found it held the panel away from the floor so I just ordered nutserts for that hole and will use a normal hex bolt in them as they are up front corners and will not catch anything.
The 2 others are out by the tail gate and I don't want hex head bolts sticking up but was able to use the cut off wheel to trim the cross member and bent it to now get a washer & nut on them.

I got good news from my brother out in CA he found a flare side truck in a pick n pull with a good tail gate and tail light brackets and some other parts he is sending my way. He also cut up a fender for the filler door as I have added a rear second tank to my flare side. He side being it is fiber glass it would be easier to glass in than the metal ones I have from the parts truck.
It did hurt when I heard he cut the fender as you cant get them any more but it is done.

Speaking of parts truck late last night a U-shipper picked up the long bed parts truck frame and is taking it to a member up in MI that has a frame that is ready to fold in half in his truck.
All he had to di was pay for shipping. I was happy someone could use it.

LOL that was 1 of the big selling points of the house.
I can fit 3 cars or truck in there and have room to work on 1.
I also have a work shop/room that is part of the garage that has a large table shelves with parts & supplies refrigerator microwave, only thing I don't have besides heat/ac is a bathroom.

As for body shop I was trained by dad to do body and fender work I don't like doing it but have most of the tools to do a halfway decent job LOL
Thanks
