As for body shop I was trained by dad to do body and fender work I don't like doing it but have most of the tools to do a halfway decent job LOL
Thanks

At least you still have pecan trees. In this area, tornado's and straight line winds wipe out every pecan tree for miles in Oct. ...

LOL I have 2 large pecan trees just outside my garage.
Yes have to watch when you park under them but with 4 acres mostly treeless that is not a problem.

Parts started showing up yesterday. Got an hour or two out in the shop unpacking, but it is dang cold for NC for this time of year. What's up with that?

Did a little Bondo work this weekend to the lip on the hood, and fixing the rear fender from where I busted it up 2 years ago... I'm ready to prime it now I believe... if I can find some decent weather anyways.

I did 1 more final skim and sand to pretty everything up, but keep in mind it's a mud truck... Lol

And today I got it to fire, and move under it's own power.

I spent some time on the fuel filler necks yesterday.

I had the 1 that came with the flare side (FS) truck but it looked like someone cut it up and replaced it with something else, hose & metal (exh.?) filler pipe to get the stock FS one to work and still using the door & plastic part behind the fender.

I also had the 2 from my parts truck, doors, plastic behind the body, necks & rubber hoses.
I was going to use the parts truck doors & plastic as they looked in better shape and ran into the first "road block" when trying to bolt the door/plastic to the stock mounting on the fender.
The door bolt spacing is farther apart on the FS than the style side (SS) door & plastic so I had to pull apart and clean up the FS door & plastic.
Once they were mounted I could then see what rubber hoses & necks would work for the front door/side tank.

It turned out I had to use the FS door/plastic with 1 of the SS necks and 1 of the metal flange rings, FS was missing it, and think 1 of the SS hoses and it should hook up with just a little trimming of the rubber hose.
I did have to drill new holes in the plastic as the neck and ring had to be turned to line up with the hose on the tank.
I did a trial fit of the rear filler neck and I think the other SS neck & hose will work but will not know till I get the door mounted and I cant do that till I get the fuel door assy. from my brother in CA that is also sending me a tail gate.

I also brought the hood in from out side so that will be the next to have body work done to it along with the 2 rear fenders.
It is getting closer to paint!

I forgot to post up on Saturday I installed the 2 nutserts I needed so I could mount the bed side panels.
Any one try to install nutserts without the tool? It can be done after watching Youtube.
After bolting the side panels & front header board back up I rehung the rear fenders with 2 bolts each as they will have to come off again for body work.
Then gave a quick look at the filler necks and if they may work.

There really isn't more than just a smear of Bondo there for straightening purposes. Compared to the last cab that was on the truck that was about 90% Bondo.
