Really does not look that bad in there. Clean it up and some fresh
paint and it will look super good.
Ok I might of missed it but how did the intercooler get holed?
Did you run into one of the Texas Long Horns Steer on the way home?
Well if you did I hope that it popped up into the freezer and you have some good
burgers and beef for the BBQ.
Hmm, BBQ sounds good right now. I'm out of fuel and nothing to cook on.
The BBQ dit the dust this last spring I want a new one that uses charcoal
not propane. The taste is way better. Now that I made everyone hungry........

Ok, don't laugh guys. I kinda got carried away with some paint that's only rated at 200*. All the red is 900* paint. But the blue is not. Guess we will see if it holds up.

I'm glad I left the cac boots on. They will leave a clean edge when the new boots are on. Most of the paint is barely visible when assembled. Oh we'll, idle hands. Paint is cheap

I liked the chrome tint to it. This paint prob won't hold up tho. We will see

Got my block drains today. I also decided to replace my oil drain also. Prob didn't need to replace the oil drain. I've opened it 300 times. I'm not sure how many opens and closes it can handle

i would not use any sealant on an oil pan gasket..if you ever have to change it for whatever reason you will use every cuss word in the dictionary...twice trying to get that stuff off...especially" the right stuff"

Well that's it. I'm actually in a ponder now. I've been crunching numbers about keeping the engine, rebuilding, storing, opposed to turning in the core then rebuilding when needed. Here they are.

Keep engine
Master rebuild kit. 1800
Local shop labor. 2000. Approx. I will find out in am

Plus I gotta mess with the storage.
There's a couple factors that me n the wife were going over. Can't remember right now.

If I turn in the engine. I get my 1000 now. Then it's 5000 later. Totaling 4000. 3800 if I rebuild and keep. That's only if the shop will do the labor for 2000. Which I doubt they will. That's kinda cheap.

My best bet would be to cancel the new engine, then have the local shop do the rebuild now using my existing studs.

However I still want to replace the valve train. Can't find the prices online tho.

It's late n I am sure I'm forgetting something. What do you guys think?
