Here we go guys. Here's another day, half actually

My poor cac

I got a parts trailer. Lol. I have a spot under cover to park it so its better than having the garage full of parts

Just another pic

Good lookin water pump

Not so good on the front cover. Good thing the new engine has a new cover

Egr delete n crankcase vent reroute keepin the intake clean. I am considering sending the intake in with the cac to get it cleaned. I'm hoping they can fix the cac

Not sure what this is of.

One of my other things I did was use about 15 rolls of electrical tape (bout 300k ago) and wrap both wiring clusters to try n battle chaphing. It actually stiffened them up a lot and they should b easy to reroute them.

Takin more stuff off. Water pump n pulleys

Got the turbo n pedistsal off. Gotta love that 10mm gear wrench.

My reference pic showing which get studs, n which get bolts. If they ain't right then that sux. That's where they were.

I swear I didn't clean it. Not yet that is.

Just another reference pic

Parts bench is fillin up.

Hpop n oil cooler,,, on deck

I have been pretty adiment about not losing bolts. Putting them back where they go where possible. And I have ziplock bags labeled with a sharpie for the others. I'm not disconnecting the supply lines from the ac comp. I put the bolts in upside down after removing.

Ok,,, don't laugh guys. I've gotta work with what I got. Ole grey don't fit inside.

If u didn't laugh at the last one. Maybe u will at this one

She's sealed up good. Nice n warm

I've only got about 120k on the ipr screen. So far it looks good to get the whole core back

Same with the oil cooler. U sure this engine needs replacing. Lol. Um I hope so.

Get ur butt outta the truck

Hmmm what is this of???? I bet mchan knows.

Can't believe all 4 exhaust bolts came out without breaking. Bye bye y pipe

I'm hoping that I'm good to just unbolt the ac comp n ps pump without removing the lines.

Found a nice little spot to rest the ac comp without straining the lines.

My list so far. I've been wanting to get an extra fuel filter cap for a while. Mine ain't broke tho. My iat sensor was nasty. I don't think I've ever taken it out. What do u guys suggest for exhaust bolts. Grade 8??? Stainless?? I also have had zero luck reusing glow plug harnesses.

It's ready here. Gonna pull the transfer case n trans tomorrow. I'm replacing all the seals there. I will get some pics to show why. It don't drip, but I'm picky. Got signs its not sealed tight

Good night truck

Lots of work going on there.
Have a good nights sleep.
You should see about getting some
of that Solid Film Lubricant for the turbo
pedestal that Rusty used. Make it look good
and not rust.
On the exhaust manifold bolts if you use something
too hard and for some reason it sticks you may take the threads
out with the bolt if you have to remove then. There should be an
alloy out there that is hard enough and will not corrode with the
heat. Maybe check with Summit Racing and see what they have.

Solid film lubricant??? I'm game. U know where he got it at? I was thinking about wrapping my cac tube rather than paint. Maybe some kind of heat wrap, like what Paul jr used on a motorcycle exhaust. Anyone have a fluid damper balancer???? Are they worth it? Also, the threaded connection on my ps pump swivels and its tight. The hose clamp connection is showing signs of leaking but not the swivel one. Does anyone else remember if theirs moves while tight.

I think this is the stuff he was using
Sandstrom HI-T 650 Solid Film Lubricant
You may want to ask him about it. Here is the
link to his post on the work he did, He talks about it
in the post

Does anyone have a line on a intercooler? Maybe someone has a used one or something. Or a good price on new. I'm seeing the $500 new one on eBay, just not wanting junk. The banks kit seems like the next best option at $1200 for all the cac piping n everything. Even tho I've never been a fan of banks. I'm just wanting to get one that won't brake me, especially after the $7k I spent yesterday for the engine n clutch n core.

Here is one in the KC area if your still local. Ford Diesel Intercooler/pipes/boots

That seems kind of high to me. I'd try to talk him down. I saw one go for $100 on here last week.

Good luck. I live south of town. If you need any help just holler.

Feel free to come on by strokin83. It's warm in here. I've gotta pick my son up at 4, but I'm about to crawl under there and c about getting the transfer c and trans down. I just went to metal by the fool n got some steel. After the trans I've gotta weld up a engine lifting plate. I got some m8x1.25 bolts 40 mm long and a 1/2" plate and quite a few washers to mount in place of the turbo pedistsal. I'm planning on using this fat piece of square tubing welded to the plate to wrap the chain thru. We will c how it works. But I'm in blue springs 1 mile north of 70 on Adams dairy.

Couple more pics

Thought I would put a reference from rustys thread

I'm about to build my engine lifting plate. 1/2" steel. Wonder if it will hold. Lol

This was my original thought. But I think the chain would move too much without a definite high point.

I painted my reference marks for the mounting holes

It fits. It took 5 cut washers and one fender washer and the bolts just about bottomed out in the block with (1/2" steel plate). the bolts. The package is the bolts I used. 40 mm length.

Got it welded up. I cut the tubing then cut the second half again to get a bit more support.

It isn't too pretty, it should hold though. I measured n measured to try n center it up.

Does it look ok to you guys. I hope it lifts evenly.

I'm open to any ideas if anyone sees anything I'm messing up on.

Well Anthony, you're in deep now! it'll be interesting to know how the motorcycle lift works for you. I can see by the improvised lifting bracket you'll find some way to work it out. That intake looks so clean compared to my truck, that EGR delete is making a big difference. Makes me want to go online and order a tuner to turn mine off tonight! I'm also looking at the intercooler and wondering if I need to check it also. Anyways, just a note of encouragement and keep the pictures coming. Have you got scolded for tracking truck grease and grime into the house yet? Lol.
