Gas vs PSD
Bill, are you going to answer my question a few pages back? I'll copy and paste it here in just a second...
You're all over the place, jack. You're comparing F450 chassis cabs to a F250 pickup and saying the F250 pickup is worth 75% less than yours. The F450 you posted has a new bed and only 94,000 miles and a year newer than yours.
I don't think your truck would get $10,000 dollars. I think because it's not set up good would bring down the value. The bed is too long. Just think how much more and better your truck would haul if set up properly.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
"1999 F450 7.3 PowerStroke upgraded to new turbo wheel.
15,000 GVW, dump bed, 1,300 liftgate, 8,000 lb top mounted winch. "
Hardly a fair comparison.
Yet you and others in this thread continue to bash the V10 as unreliable, "not able to do the job" and a bunch of other criticisms that are unfounded.
That's not a "double standard".
I see this behavior all over society. You paid way more upfront, and continue to pay more over it's life, and bash everything else including other blue-ovals. It's a superiority complex. Yes, you can make it to the top of the hill faster, easier, get better mileage, etc. etc.
And yet, for some reason, I still like my V10, plenty of other people do, and we all actually WORK our vehicles. But somehow, you will continue to argue the same old points over and over and over again and still not GET it.
So, get off your high-horse, come down to ground-level, and maybe, just MAYBE you'll figure it out one of these days.
Why, do you really think its fair to compare a 6.4 F450 to a V10 Ex?
There is some underlying complex but superiority is a stretch.
Feelings of inferiority usually ellicite the kind of BS coming out of these two.
The v10 is the best choice for 80% of people.
From this thread one could deduce that the diesel is for egomaniacs and simpletons.

[/quote]No idea why the app didn't keep your quote in the boxes this time....Sorry if it confuses anyone
Show me a SINGLE post I made where I said a V10 is either "unreliable" or "not able to do the job". You CAN'T because I never have. I have said the V10 can't tow as much as easily as the PSD (6.4) and I have said I didn't buy a V10 because I put a lot of miles on my truck, and I get better mileage that will save me money over a V10. Others say this isn't in dispute, and I'm not saying it is.
I have no problem with a V10 or a PSD. They both do the job when used in the right application. If you're towing all the time with a V10, and getting 8-9mpg, then you got the wrong vehicle if you're trying to save money. I am ribbing Bill because he asks the same old question "Have you ever...?" and finally someone has, and answered it...Now Bill doesn't seem to see the post.
You take my posts either too seriously when I'm merely ribbing someone, or refuse to look at the engine being used in a certain circumstance.
FORD, FTW!!
