Thanks for the kudos!
Lets see.......
I purchased plans from H2Go for his 5 cell setup. (www.brianspdr.com brianspdr brians pdr paintless dent repair Norfolk NE 68701 free estimates hail damage dents dings cheap repair save time fast repair autobody) I then set about changing his plans for my application. ( I am a retired mechanical design engineer) He has built many units and has his plates spaced .187 apart and they produce , as long as all the variables are in place like.......
only use 316L stainless steel as 304 alloy has too much iron in it......aggresively sand your plates with 80 grit to produce more HHO and NEVER user tap water, ONLY distilled water. I heightened the unit to allow for more gas volume as i have the room in my truck bed tool box and i went with 2 7 cell arranegement instead of 5 cell units to produce more volume. my engine connection is AFTER the air filetr box on the elbow going to the turbo, it is 3/8 ID and i have a sperk arrestor there just in case.
I did not see the need to redisgn something that was working well, i only improved on it for my desires. I have seen hundreds of cell desings and this one works very well. I cant wait to get my PWM hooked up on it!
With our big engines i feel we need at least 5LPM to make any difference and 10LPM would be better. The guys at Hydrorunner.com are getting over 30MPG with there unit installed in an F350 diesel and i know it is because of more volume of HHO going in. At what point are we saturating the fuel level? i feel that "the more the better" until i see a drop in performance or mileage. I would bet that 20LPM would still be welcomed by my 7.3!
as for the water 4 gas mason jars and small PVC tube desings. i would not waste the money! in a big engine you need a lot of HHO to make a difference and they do not have the capability of producing so do some more homework and build a larger unit with "large plates" not wire or washers for electrodes and build a multiple cell design capable of volume.

OK.....milehigh, you have my interest peaked! How much did it cost you to build you generator? I have to say $10.00 for his plans is a great price and I'm considering it especially since my unit is working worth a crap!

man did i have a lot of typos in my last reply! LOL! dislexick fingers!

TWTCAD,

I spent about $500 so far for plastic, and glue, SS plates made at a machine shop, SS hardware, wiring (8ga) continuous duty 80 amp rated solenoid, switch, ammeter, braided tubing, brass fittings, hose clamps, add a circuit and fuse holders plus electrical components like ring terminals, potassium hydroxide, distilled water and finally a Lawton D1400 PWM circuit box due any day now. I worked on my units part time over a week and it took about 4 hours to install with all the wiring and hose routing.

Brians plans are straight forward and complete except i added flanges and removable lids for service, if i add more cells it will be 5 cell units but at my 11" tall rather than his 6". You will need room under the hood in your Excursion because in NO WAY should an HHO unit go into the passenger compartment!
do you have an after market programmer like a Hypertech or superchip? I have mine programmed on stage 2 from my Hypertech programmer and i think that helps with keeping the computer from over riding any gains by sending more fuel in.

WOW....you have a lot invested so far, but you have two units and I'm sure you have extra plastic to make more. Plus I bet that Lawton thing was pricey!

I in now way intend to put such an item inside my truck, the unit I built was intended to go between the grill and radiator. So I would need to see where I could mount something like yours. Why again did you go 11" vs. his 6" and why not go with taller plates or did you.....Oh and yes I have a Superchips Flashpaq set on Performance.

Dave, thanks for the welcome!

Twtcad,
I have a few bucks invested but i will get that back and much more with the better fuel mileage and less service expense. I look forward to only one oil change a year! I have talked to a couple of over the road truckers that have HHO generators on there trucks (independent guys) and they go 15,000 miles before an oil change because it stays cleaner and the viscosity remains good. they have the "Gorilla guys" units (gethydropower.com) and save fuel and service expense because of those.
I went with 11" height to get more water volume and hence more HHOP making capability. I can go about 4,000 miles before refilling. I kept the plates at Brians design for amp draw over 7 cells.
The Lawton units i bought were $190 and $150, I bought 2 from 2 different guys and will test both and keep the most productive one. I have also bought a MAP adjuster so i can adjust as needed.

Tim

I would be interested to see how you have the cells wired.

I watched the video and I think I heard two 4 cell and two three cell somewhere in there.

From this I figured you had four cells wired in series, then parellel wiring to the other three cells which were also wire in series on each unit.

If you understand what I am trying to say, does that sound right?

So, what is this mystery electrolyte the "Gorilla guys" talk about?

And it reasons that a bigger unit should give a larger amount of gas, so I would think a massive "Smack" style of booster should give comparable amounts.

I would love to see more in-depth info on the unit they are selling.

Wouldn't you want to wire them parrellel so as to maintain voltage to each one the same? Now with a pwm i guess you could wire them in series.

Found this in wal-mart tonight, made in U.S.A and only $7.83 it is water tight and plenty big for seven cells or more..

Thats perfect! Small enough to mount several if needed. Fitting two smaller ones might be easier than one large one. Gotta love how easy it would be to service.

Forgot to add that there in the sporting goods dept.,the section between fishing and boating supplies,,thanks for the cudo's..I actually went looking for them, about 25 years ago i bought one to store ammo in because of it being water tight and it hit me that that would be the perfect box, right size and easy to service,,good luck, wayne

Hey guys,
I did have the 7 cell units wired in series, the amp draw was rediculous, ocer 60 amps so i wire 3 cels together and then the remaining 4 cells on each unit, amp draw went way down and then i brought it back up with my electrolyte mix which is 4 TBLSPN potassium hydroxide to 2.5Gal distilled water.
I have turkey thermometers mounted on the outside of my units and so far they have reached 130 degrees so i would be leary of using a thin polyethylene container which i see in the pics posted by waynbo unless you have a PWM unit controlling the current so you amp draw/heat build up is low. I am STILL waiting for my PWMPOWER.COM pwm unit to arrive, who knows when that will be so i purchased another from D14 Lawton Style PWM
cant wait to get one ogf these hhoked up as well as my new MAP adjuster to lean it out at highway cruise to see if i can reach my goal of 30MPG!
