Thanks for the pics... That mod looks like a good one. So that 1 inch spacer gave you 1 inch of leveling lift? Or what the ratio?
I'm not sure because I bought the truck with them already installed. I pick up my F350 crew on sat from the father-in-laws house so I will look again to see if its level and if it has any spacers on the front. There might be a little diff between the 2 because my F350 is a cab & chassis truck.
Ok thanks for the info pitcrw6. I'm gonna try to do the mod. If it works well its stays. If not, it's coming right off. Lol. Don't know till i try. Thanks again

If you are only trying to get an inch or so, why do a potentially dangerous suspension mod? It would be a lot easier just to buy tires an inch taller, and probably cheaper in the long run.
The reason a pick-up sits taller in the rear is so when you put something in the bed or hook a trailer to it, you don't look like you're hunting racoons at night. If you level it, I hope you reset the headlight aim so you aren't blinding on-coming traffic.
Hey vocatexas, thanks for your opinion. Yea I understand why the bed is higher than the front but this truck won't be pulling any loads. This is my weekend cruiser. The reason why I'm leveling it out so I can put bigger rims and tires. If like to go for 20's but I'll settle with 18's with some aggressive All terrains. But like I said if the mod doesn't work like I want it to, then it's coming right off. put the stock stuff back on and forget about the idea. I wouldn't want to ruin the truck by doing some half*as work to it. I want things to be done right! By the way I like how your crew sits! Is it 4x4?
Thanks. No, my crew is a 4x2. I use it hauling cattle, equipment, and moving sea containers. It's my heavy-haul rig.
No disrespect meant. It just seems that it would be easier and safer to just put slightly higher profile tires on the front to achieve the same result. But, it's your crew and we each make our rigs suit our goals.
When I bought my Crew it still had the original 16.5 inch wheels on it. That size is hard to come by and expensive around there now, so I changed the wheels to 16 inchers. I'm running 235/85R16 tires on both the front and rear. The rear sits a couple of inches higher than the front without a load. With a ton or so in the bed, or with a loaded trailer hooked on it sits just about level.
Hi Guy's , I'm on a mission to build this truck for next summer. I just bought my third truck. It's a 78 fire truck f600 w/ 13k on it. It's in mint shape. Just drove it 2 (long) hours home. (She maxes out at about 60mph) but runs and drives great! What I'm looking to do is swap the crew cab off of my 78 800 on to it. I'm thinking I will cut the factory spot weld and separate the back half that way? Has anyone done this? The back half of the crew is in good shape front half is total loss. The second half of my project involves swapping the 4x4 gear off of my 76 f600 4x4. Wondering if the transfer case will bolt on to the fire truck 5 speed? Is swapping the 4x4 gear simple? Thanks!
