The floor lines are so different in the new vs. old trucks that I don't think something from another model would come close to fitting "right". If you can find something big enough it might cover the floor, but auto carpets like this are moulded and the trans hump, where the floor lifts for the seat mounts, etc. would be all wrong.
Hi guys. Has anyone tried to build the inner door panels on the back doors of a crew?Basically the sheet metal that the window regulator bolts to. My plan was to cut the metal out of a front door, but with the speaker hole where it is I'm not sure if there is enough to work with. Any help appreciated.

I don't know of anyone trying or attempting to do it but not saying it hasn't or can't be done. With the right skill and tools and money anything can be done. With that being said, you know the rear doors are actually front doors with the front window vent cut off and a couple things just turned around to fit and work.
I was going to fix my crew after 4x4 ing and smoked some tree's with both the front and BACK door on the drivers side, (it always works out that way when you have the passenger back door eh?) anyways I started to look at it closer and the whole pillar is, toast cab corners and all.
So today my bud spotted a crew in the field so we are going to look at the cab! Pray it is OK to go!
Question, when I have the cab off, who has the best wiring harness? New???
What a bummer... Hunting is hard on the rig for sure!!!!

I managed to find a smashed up front door for $5. I think I can make it work. Then I'll have to modify the regulator I got from LMC that is supposedly for a rear door, but is obviously to long.

Are you wanting to do the whole truck with a new harness? If so then Painless wiring is the place to go. If you want to just do a certain harness with OE connectors then give this place a call, NARRAGANSETT REPRODUCTIONS 401-364-3839. He remakes OE harnesses with new orginial connectors. He might have some already made. If he doesnt then you have to send in your old harness so he can copy it.
Hey to all,.. just joined the site. Thought I'd share some pics of the soon to be started project. The truck is a 73 camper special. 390 C6 2wd. 9" rear end and 3:73 gears.
The thing is , I want it to be a 4x4 with a 3" body lift. I would like to keep the 390 and C6 ,..but nothing is written in stone.
Found a 78 4x4 reg cab with a 400m, NP 435, 205 tc; Dana 60s in 4:10 gears as a donor.
My head is swimming in a lot of mixed info on changing a C6 into a 4x4 tranny and mating it to a 205 , ( yoke hitting the tranny).. so more reading i will do.
Open to ideas or direction in this quest.
My goal for this truck is to make it a road worthy traveler that's able to tow on occasion. And when i go hunting , the Subaru stays home. I don't expect Stellar gas mileage ,but it would be nice to have SOME.
And lets not forget,..the zombies are coming.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Yep , what you se is how it is. Pit crew 6 is spot on , all 2wd not too many 4wd to be found. But that's what id like it to be.
Think ive decided on a motor\tranny\tcase combo.
I have a donor truck, a 78 4x4 reg cab. It just has a 400m 4sp tranny tho, but Dana 6os front and back.
