bought this crew..a 77 4x4 long bed...not made that way, but stretched some time ago, has a/c manual trans, lp d60 and d60 ls, I am adding a 55 gal custom made stainless aft tank to fit between the narrower rails, along w/ the fwd. aux tank, as long as it will fit???, the 78/79 pwr. steering upgrade the custom long bed w/ the dual sid boxes and dual tank doors along w/ any other 'goodies' that I may p/u along the way. The cab had some rust over the drip rails and I had cut up 2 s/c roofs for the repair ..but I located a SWEET 74 crew cab body that was redone, but nothing else was useful, so it all sat idle until yesterday 08/08/09, now I will join the others who re-did their crews, also planning on putting either por 15 or rust bullet on the frame and under body panels...any one better than the other???
started w/ this
sold the dual wheel fenders, never going to need the duallie set up.
moved to this...
to this on 08/08/09...
this is the donor 74 crew cab body...I am filling in where the skylight was cut out and looking into adding rear shoulder harnesses...also a factory a/c cab, manual trans set up..still comtemplating switching to automatic, have trans. available, willl probably have to shorten the d/s between the divorced transfer case...this also came w/ front diff skid plate and transfer case skid plate, warn 8,000 lbs winch w/ bumper and grille guard and the custom fuel tank
this is the custom long bed that is going on the crew cab..had factory tool boxes installed on both sides, along w/ the dual tank doors, will probably be installing the factory tie-downs, still kicking around the idea of installing the race track trim, I would have to custumize the d/s lower trim near the tool box...ugh!!
so the saga begins!!!
NOTE....Scott you are given some credit for starting the fire
Thanks Brady!!! I love finding out all the oddball parts ford used to put these trucks together...lol...especially since it was mostly factory parts from one vehicle or another!!!
