scott and 70 Bronco TX, you must have both used the regular front door window beltlines because both NPD and LMC offer only the front beltline but tell me they are the same for the rear. I quite honestly don't believe anyone because the outer beltline needs to curve up in the rear like normal and so does the front end of the outer beltline. I'll be a pessimist until I see one installed lol I already have the front pieces that I was going to use in the rear doors, guess i'll try to make them work. Do either of you have a pic of your installation that you wouldn't mind emailing me or posting it here?
Thanks!
I have put the front glass into the back doors, the bottom piece that slides on the window had to be cut down to fit for the different regulator but the glass is EXACTLY the same. Try being an optimist, Ford was lazy and did not make something new they could use off another production line. For example, the rear hinges are the front hinges from the 72 and earlier trucks, and here are the rear handles from a car... 71-73 LH STANDARD INTERIOR CHROME INSIDE DOOR HANDLE
The bed on a 73 on the inside is the same as a 96.
thanks joseph i know there are many parts on these trucks that work from other applications, etc. including the door glass being the same front to rear. however, if you have looked at the lower beltline window felt for the rear doors and compared it to the front door beltline, i don't know how the fronts will fit in the rears because of the curves. The fronts only curve upwards at the rear end of the front door beltlines while the rear doors need to curve upwards at both ends. I am a perfectionist and have used to the most authentic parts on this truck. I guess i'll give the front beltlines a chance in the rear but i'm not holding my breath that they will fit like the originals. I'll give it a try tho.
I know I ordered a set for a crew from one of those companies. I'd have to dig thru my invoices but I don't recall any problems with fit. I don't think I have any pics either, I'm in Ms and not home so I can't check my computer.
joseph glad you see what i see now.... the fronts won't work in the rear doors contrary to what the parts people will tell ya. I quite honestly don't know how the front beltline will work in the rear doors....hhhmmmmm
well i feel like a clod now .....after checking the parts book, the rear doors do take the same part as the front doors (both inner and outer beltlines). damn i just don't know how they will fit but guess we'll try....

Reason: did some more research and discovered.........
Hey all...Glad I found ya!
I have a '75 XLT crew 4x4 and a '74 custom crew 4x4..After shoulder surgery I need to put PS on the '74..suggestions as to componets or kits?
Thx for any help!
First, welcome! You are lucky to have not one, but 2 crews! As far as the PS conversion, if you do a seach in this forum for something along the lines of "highboy power steering" or "highboy steering conversion" there's a bunch of threads on how different people have done it.
Tried a couple different window beltline pieces (DC and Precision). Both fit about the same, DC better quality rubber tho. One thing that is different with the rear doors is the mounting slot in the rear of the beltline follows the curve up while the rear mounting slot for the front doors are horizontal. Both suppliers of beltline have the little clips attached to the beltline piece in a horizontal fashion rather than the rear clip curving up the beltline so the rear clip doesn't exactly fit in the slot real nice. Anyway, I guess I can make them work - just not like I envisioned.
just joined the cc club. I posted a thread in the 70's forum with some pics. Glad to join and by reading the last couple of pages it looks like there is alot of good info out there to help me out when i run into some weird project.
