Superchips 6.0 Microtuner Thread
Thanks for the info Vic, I understand what you are saying about stacking. I know a lot of guys out ther are stacking, but probably not obtaining everything they think they are. I am simply looking for the remapping the SCMT offers, which I assume would help with the drivability. I would use the EDGE for the gauges and maybe a little extra on the low horsepower setting. It isn't worth much to sell! You am guessing you know exactly how the EDGE works? I have never seen boosts even close to 30 pounds. or milage gains like everybody talks and i have tried all the ideas and settings and doing all the long term calculations. Bottom line will this stacking work like I think used PROPERLY. Again not looking for all out tire burning power. I do work this truck and do not want it to become a parts eater warranty or not. THANK YOU for your time and advice.

The inline device can not rewrite logic, it can only "fool" logic.
As a result, boost curves only receive incidental changes, not deliberate changes.
Fueling and injector timing is raised with simple math, not complete remapping, hence the lag during tip in/tip out and excessive smoke on high HP settings.
With an inline device, you are fighting the logic of the PCM at all times, and not getting anywhere near the precise control (and low EGT's and potential fuel mileage) you get with a programmer.
Lets not even get into the shifting!

In HP the SCMT gains about 10hp till about 2500rpm then the Edge gains about 40hp till 3500rpm or so.
So the answer is under full throttle the SCMT does have more power in the lowend. I will say the mapping with the SCMT is conservative which requires you to actually push the pedal father to get the power.
Thanks for correcting me and making me look Vic.
I very much appreciate the info, I will go ahead and pick up the SCMT here in the next couple days/ I will only use the EDGE for the info display it offers, A friend talked me into the EDGE a year and half ago and I suspected then I would regret it in the future. Does anybody want to purchase a used EDGE? HA HA.

Any regards or concerns that need to be approached with a SCMT on a 2005 6-speed? ty... even if you have any other recommendations for a tuner that is compatible w/ my setup would be appreciated.

It extends the powerband past 4200 RPM and makes tons more part/full throttle power (tastes great, less shifting)

My truck is a 2005 PSD, 6-speed, 4x4 manual t/case, super cab, shortbed. 3.73 LS rearend.
(Additional info.....) Tires are 325/60R18E (33x13.50R18E). Stock exhaust is still in place, but planning on new setup once tuner is decided upon. Thank you for your input sir.

You need a 1704-A
Also I have a 04 that had its turbo replaced, would they use a different year turbo, would that make a difference with the superchip?

Use the correct part number for the year truck.
It has to do with the flash strategy.

Shows 03 f350 at +150 hp max
the 05 350 at +99 hp at max
I have a 04 I suppose I need the 1704-a
