Good price.
The 1706 with the coupon code through motorhaven can be as low as $318 shipped, but 379 is pretty darn good for an 1805
In the tuner shootout on SCT website, the SCMT makes so much less power than the predator. What gives? Is the predator that much better?
It does not make less power than the predator, except in a very narrow "peak" area. The predators power is over as quickly as it starts.
The SCMT pulls and makes power past 4200 RPM. The predator is DONE at 3600 RPM (done as in NO POWER, full power reduction). This makes a huge difference while driving it on the street.
The average power is much greater on the superchips product, not to mention the shifting is much better.
I spend a lit of time dyno and track testing vehicles, and one thing I learned is it's not about the peak number, but the overall curve.
A 440 RWHP car can ragularly wax a 480 RWHP car, if the 440 RWHP car make more average power throught the entire band.
The peak number is a very small part of the whole picture.
OK cool, that eliminates the predator for me. Now I need yall to tell me which one to get out of the SCMT and Evolution. What I really like about the edge is the ability to adjust for tire size and axle ratio. How does its power compare to the SCMT?

The evolution is a product I have not tested, so I can not state an opinion on it.
Look to see what it does for shifting and see if the power curve extends beyond 4000 RPM.
Many devices still allow torque reduction which can kill your power curve (even though you show a diecent peak number).
Interesting things happening.......SCMT HP tuned 05 F250
I am wondering if the following is normal or not. When cruising at 70mph or so, if I ease into the throttle to the point just before it would downshift (keeping the revs below 2k), it will make approximately 29lbs of boost. Now within this same scenario, as the boost climbs past about 23psi, I get this "low toned whine/howl" (don't know how else to describe it) that continues all the way to 29psi.
The other scenario is cruising along say 25-30mph, if I go to wide open throttle, I never see more than 21lbs of boost, even as it shifts through the gears.
The truck is completely stock otherwise.
So why the lower boost on a WOT blast? Is this normal?
Just being curious. Sure is a lot of fun! Thanks Vic! (just can't seem to wipe off that grin)
I get what seems like a driveline "howl" around that speed as well, but haven't thought to check and see if it happens in stock mode (I have an appointment with the dealer on Tuesday, and have detuned the truck already), but maybe I'll check in the next day or two. The "howl" disappears when I ease off the throttle, but I don't think it's a boost related sound ... I get the impression it's originating from the tranny or drive shaft.
I'm also purchasing a hood liner, so I'll see if that helps minimize the "howl" in the cabin.
