WOW!!!! i just assumed that was in the DP!! thats amazing EGT's!! some of the tractors ive built will go past that at 1/2 throttle
thats in the 45hp mode? u said "econo", or is that the 65HP?
The Econo tune is the mid tune. As to the HP gain quoted for each one, I've forgotten just how much the lower power ones are each supposed to make.
There are three tunes, Tow Safe, which is the lowest power gain, Economy, which is the mid level power gain, and Hi Performance, which is, well, Hi performance.
I haven't tried the Tow Safe mode yet. Jumped straight in to the Hi Performance mode and man oh man is it a major jump up from stock. The Econo mode is a nice gain too and had I tried it first I'd have been impressed.

I will have a brand new stock motor in my truck by next Friday. My question is, how long (in miles) do i need to wait before i throw my SCMT back in the truck? Im a little leary about doing it the first day i get it back. Should I stay away from the High-Perf tune for a while too?

If I were you I would wait until your first oil change after you get rid of the factory break in oil. That would be anywhere from 500-3000 miles depending on when you decide you want to do it. Ford manual states first oil change at 3000. A Ford tech told me that the reason for the 10-30 break in oil is to make sure the motor wears properly and gets rid of any metal shavings present from the build (easier with the lower viscoscity). He went on to say that 500 miles would be plenty to accomplish this. So, I would not put any tune in until thats done.
